A fun experience in the middle of adventureland, it was a great restaurant to escape the heat of the park while enjoying some food that was a little adventurous. Truly enjoyed interacting with our skipper waiter and would recommend this to any family who is looking for a table service meal in the Magic Kingdom.

Pros:

The atmosphere was top notch and so much fun. It definitely is a full dining experience with the decor and music. Not to mention the skippers, you get the jungle cruise jokes without being on the ride.

Cons:

While everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered, I do feel the menu was a little to limited. Another couple of entree options could make this place a 10/10.

Loved the theming and our server was Amazing! We got the cheese bread and Shrimp fried rice for appetizers-both I would highly recommend (I know the shrimp is for the 50th but I hope they keep it)
My friend got the pad thai for dinner and said it was a great portion with lovely flavors (he got chicken instead of tofu) I got the curry which was not good. The pineapple tofu and the rice were fine, but the curry itself was so salty I couldn't eat it. The server took it away and when I insisted I was fine not getting a replacement he assured me my friend would still be eating when I got fresh and within five minutes I did have a freshly prepared dish. The dish tasted completely different and was edible but just felt like sautéed veggies over rice with a bland tomato sauce. I loved our apps but would not order this dish again. Sangria was nice, his beer was good and we had a lovely time. We didn't order dessert.

Pros:

Great theming

Cons:

Curry dish was not good and I love a good curry

My husband and I ate at Skipper Canteen on our recent honeymoon (June 2021). As fans of the Jungle Cruise ride, we were looking forward to trying out the restaurant. We both really enjoyed the food and atmosphere! It’s a great extension of the adventurous and punny ride. Our server was excellent and made us laugh. The food was more exotic than other Disney restaurants, but in a good way! I enjoyed my “Tastes Like Chicken... Cause It Is,” but the breading was slightly thicker than I prefer. My husband had a noodle dish that was amazing! We also split the Pao de Caijo appetizer, which was a type of cheese bread with dip. It was awesome! I’d definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a departure from the typical burgers and hot dogs!

Pros:

- Fun atmosphere with ties to the Jungle Cruise ride - Tasty food for more adventurous eaters

Cons:

- May not please picky eaters

I am a big fan of the Jungle Cruise and was looking forward to eating here. Being a picky eater, I was worried I wouldn't find something to eat. I ordered the chicken because for me it was the safest choice and I wasn't disappointed. It was one of my favorite entrees that I ate that vacation. I didn't eat all the sides but the chicken itself was amazing. We went for an early dinner when we went and no one was in the restaurant. Like there was literally less than 10 families in the restaurant and we ate at like 5:00pm (in 2016). I'll be honest I expected our waiter to be a little more invested in the corny jokes but the few he told were funny. I think that this place scares a lot of picky eaters with the menu but I do think they have done a good job trying to include a few traditional eats (chicken, steak, salad) for those who are a little pickier.

Pros:

lots of nods the the Jungle Cruise. Order the Tastes Like Chicken Because it is.

Cons:

pickier eaters may need convincing.

Fun setting with interesting menu options. We've eaten here multiple times. We've had great, fun Skippers (servers) and not so great. We've had great food and not so great. Our most recent visit was excellent, partly because we've learned what to order (the steak and the fish are consistently tasty, the chicken and the sui pork tend to be dry) and partly because our Skipper was fantastic!

Pros:

When you have a fun Skipper and order the tastier menu options, this is a really fun dining experience.

Cons:

If you have a Skipper who just isn't in a fun mood and if you order a menu item that is hit or miss, your experience might be disappointing. I still recommend giving it another try on a future visit.

Dined here in November 2020. My boyfriend and I chose to not plan our dining until day of and this was the only option available for dinner. Neither of us had ever been here, so we figured why not try it out. I was VERY impressed!! The atmosphere was a lot of fun, as the staff have the same persona as the skippers everyone loves on the Jungle Cruise. Our skipper made our meal so much fun while still providing excellent and quick service. We both had the pad thai and weren't disappointed at all! Portion wasn't huge by any means but absolutely big enough to justify the price. The size was perfect since we'd been snacking all day in Magic Kingdom anyway. They also have Tusker Lager, which became my new favorite beer after we stopped by the Africa pavilion the day before in Epcot. All around great meal and fun environment!

Pros:

hilarious skippers, unique menu items, fairly priced (especially for being in Magic Kingdom)

Cons:

limited menu, very picky eaters probably won't love it

The service is the best part of the meal loved the puns!

Pros:

Not a long wait to get a table if you don’t have a reservation.

Cons:

Not a good choice if you have picky eaters in the party.

I have been wanting to try this restaurant ever since it opened. My family of 6 ate here on September 7th for dinner. My DD23 and I each had a Sangria. Hers was a green apple one and it looked very fun. Mine was very good as well. The dinners we got are:A lotta Steak salad DS liked it, Hardy Har Pork both my DD and DH liked theirs, the signature grilled steak my DS loved, Perkins Thai noodles DS loved this, and I got the Seafood Stew. I really enjoyed all the seafood on the top: crayfish, mussels, shrimp, a mild fish, octopus no thanks! But then as I got down to the broth I really disliked the flavor it gave the seafood and the rice so I didn't finish it. Our service was good but not excellent.

Pros:

Fun exotic food

Cons:

I learned that I might need to be careful what I order. I generally like adventurous food but sometimes I might want to get the steak salad, lol.
