I visited from late Sunday night December 2nd and left the morning of Saturday December 8th. I traveled with my boyfriend and we stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter. POFQ was great – my only minor complaints are #1 I wish the hotel pools/Jacuzzi would stay open later because by the time you come “home” from the parks they’re closed and #2 there was a cast member named Bero who used a dirty pen to remove the stickers from the tops of our reusable resort mugs. People drink out of these mugs and cast members should not be picking at the tops of them with pens! Other than that our experience was pleasant at POFQ. The older gentleman cast member who drove the boat back from Disney Springs one evening was very delightful and was singing songs. “Mousekeeping” keep the room tidy and I gave them a ponytail with a Disney bow on it each day inside a hand-written Disney princess thank-you card. I wish they would have done something “special” in return but they didn’t – I guess you don’t do towel animals anymore? The remodeled rooms are nice. The smaller close-up mirror in the bathroom area is appreciated. I just wish there was room between the toilets and showers to actually turn on the water before you get into the shower. I’m not a large person and I like turning on the water before I get in to make sure it’s the right temperature – and that was a challenge trying to do so. The door covering the refrigerator was already broken as it didn’t close all the way. We stayed in building three on the first floor.

Pros:

Smallest resort on Disney property, decent food court, boat to Disney Springs, nice rooms, "mousekeeping" good but no towel animals

Cons:

No room between toilet and shower to turn on water before stepping inside, cast member Bero used a pen to remove the stickers on our refillable mugs

We've stayed at POFQ about 10 times now and we love it. From the moment we enter the port cochere, and then hear the lobby fountain, we feel welcomed and at home.

This time, I was thrilled to receive my "room ready" text at 7AM while on the Magical Express after an overnight flight from Seattle. It was so great to be able to skip the front desk and go right to the room to get changed and ready for Magic Kingdom.

My only complaint about the resort is the food court. I have always loved the food court and the new renovations look great. But, the wait for food was consistenly lengthy. Over 20 minutes for pasta, pizza, and a chicken sandwich-on 3 separate occasions. There is nowhere to wait in the small area, especially with the new drink coolers in there. Perhaps more of the stations could use the "buzzers" so we would not have to wait and cluster around the windows to hear our names. I also noticed changes to some of my favorite items: the po'boys have a different sauce and the bread is harder. The jambalaya isn't as tasty, and the whole wheat croissant on the breakfast sandwich was not good.

One more small complaint-Riverside's cheesecake is far superior!

Pros:

River boat to Disney Springs, small size, decor and theming

Cons:

Long waits at foodcourt

Love this resorts location to parks. Nice Cast Members. Good price! Fewer children at this resort. When you are visiting Disney without children, this is nice. We made a request that was granted! Thank you! Food is just average(was better a few years back). If we are able to visit next year, more than likely we will be staying here!

Pros:

Moderate Price,Helpful Cast Members, Good Location,Not so many children!

Cons:

Restaurant is congested! Garbage disposal is more than I want to think about on vacation!

This was my 5th stay at POFQ. The previous trip was in June of 2015 for 5 nights. We chose this resort, because it's the smallest and felt it would be a good fit for my sister's family, who also joined us and had the room next door.

This time, we stayed for 2 nights, July 2-4. It was myself, my husband and our 16 year old, twin daughters. We had a garden view in Building 4. The location was perfect and the room was clean, but still in need of a renovation. The rooms are simply showing their age and need some sprucing. I said this last year in my review as well.

Check in was a breeze. My sister's room was ready by 1030 am, and our room was ready by 1 pm. There was some miscommunication with the text message letting us know our room was ready, but quickly resolved.

The pool was wonderful. We spent a lot of time there, as we didn't do any parks this trip. Seating was difficult to find, but the addition of the splash zone was nice.

I'm glad the food court is being remodeled. The Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory is in dire need. It was still dirty, just like I posted in my review last year. For whatever reason, staff can't keep up with the refillable mug station. Hopefully,
this will be part of the renovation...

I'm gald we stayed at POFQ. It's still my favorite resort by far. It just seriously needs a little love to bring it back to its former glory...

Pros:

Beautiful Grounds and Wonderful Service

Cons:

Food Court

We arrived at 9 am and our room was ready! The grounds are lovely and well kept, only a short walk to the bus stop and food court. The cast members at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. It can get very crowded in the food area during busy periods and the cast members working there don’t appear to be in any hurry. The rooms are a little on small size, but worked out well for two adults. The toilet/shower area is a tight fit but the curtain between the beds and sink area came in handy. The furniture in the room was well worn, but mousekeeping did a good job keeping the room clean. We did not have any issues with the buses or the boat to Downtown Disney.

Pros:

Size of resort

Cons:

Food court

We stayed at POFQ in from 9/14/14 to 9/20/14. My husband and I, our 2 year old son, and my father in law were in a double queen room together. The room was plenty large for all 4 of us. I had checked in online prior to our arrival and as we got off DME, someone was waiting for us with our name on an iPad. The check in process was very smooth and was done in the lobby on a bench so we could relax after a long morning of traveling. The gentleman handing out Mardi Gras beads helped to keep my son entertained while I checked in.

We were in the 4th building, second floor, as requested. The only request that was not granted was a corner room (not a deal breaker). There was a pack and play in the room with sheets available. It fit easily between the bed and the front wall and my son did not have a problem sleeping in it at all. The curtain between the sink area and the room allowed more than enough privacy so that I didn't feel uncomfortable changing with my FIL in the room. The only thing that would have made it better is if the door to the commode/tub was outside the curtain so that someone else could shower or use the facilities while someone else is changing.

We did not have any issues with the MagicBand throughout the week (with the exception of some operator errors!). We ate in the food court for breakfast most days and the food was pretty good. Would have liked more variety, but again, not a deal breaker. It was nice to have the TV in the dining room playing classic Fab Five cartoons because it helped to keep my son still in his seat while we got things ready for the day.

Building 4 was really close to the bus stop and we never had a long wait for the buses. On more crowded days with EMH, 2 buses would come back to back for MK and EP, which was really nice.

One snag in the trip, which I don't think went anywhere when I called and I will probably make a follow up call soon - I wear Toms shoes in the parks often - cute, easy, comfortable. It was raining on the morning we were leaving and I was walking down the steps with my son on my hip and my feet slipped on the steps I ended up with some pretty gnarly bruises on my hip and leg. Considering how often it rains, they should definitely consider adding some anti slip strips on the stairs.

Pros:

Room size, accommodations for toddler, ease of check in, awesome decor, small size, ease of buses

Cons:

SLIPPERY STAIRS!!!

We have stayed at POFQ several times before, and chose it this time due to its smaller size as my DH has mobility issues. When we arrived, I again reminded the cast members of my request for a room that would require the least amount of walking. We were given a room in building 3 that technically is close to the food court, but the room was remotely located on the parking lot side and was a longer walk than we wanted and not very convenient. We returned to the check in desk to see if there was anything closer to busses and food court. The cast member checking us in seemed put off by our request, and said this room WAS close to everything. Other cast members manning the doors saw us struggling to get to our room, and said we needed to be closer. Eventually the cast member who checked us in called a supervisor and we were put in a well located room in building 4. The magic just was not there during our stay this time. The grounds were not as well kept as previously, our room was showing signs of wear and tear, and the selection of food in the food court was limited. The bus service turned out to be very efficient and we rarely had a long wait. Although the small size is good for choosing this resort, we may continue to try other resorts for our next visit.

Pros:

small size, great transportation

Cons:

food court

We stayed at this resort the week of 4/6/14. The resort is not too large and it was a close walk to the food court, pool, and the bus stops, which were near the main entrance. Housekeeping was spotty during the week. Some of the time the room was cleaned and at other times the floor wasn't vacuumed and there was dust on the dresser at the end of the week. We did have towel animals during our stay. The only noise we heard from the other rooms was the loud toilets flushing.

The grounds are pretty and the boat ride to Riverside/Downtown Disney was a nice change from the buses. We had to take a taxi one evening to get to our dinner reservation, because the bus we needed to take hadn't arrived after a 30 minute wait. That was the only time we had a problem with the bus transportation.

The food court was just OK. It was very crowded at times and although most of the staff were pleasant, there were some that were not.

Overall, we would recommend this resort. We did save some money by staying at this moderate resort, and we did enjoy our stay, but we missed the transportation options and extras that the deluxe resorts offer.

Pros:

Size of Resort

Cons:

Transportation, Loud Toilets
