We stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter last week (September 3-9, 2022) during our visit to Walt Disney World. I loved the New Orleans theming and the Mickey beignets were magnificently delicious. My husband was pleased they even had a gluten free version of beignets. We had a river view in Building 1. It was an excellent location for us. Every morning when I got up, I would walk outside and take a picture of the wonderful view. The resort was so quiet and relaxing. Our rooms were bright and cheerful; the beds and pillows were super comfy. My daughter and her boyfriend enjoyed visiting Scat Cat's Club for drinks one night when we got back to the resort early. We enjoyed riding the boat to Disney Springs. Bus service was great for us. The staff was friendly and helpful. We didn't spend time in the pool, but it looked like a fun place.

Pros:

Short walk to food court and bus stop Quiet Mickey Beignets!!

Cons:

Hash browns in food court weren't hot enough for my husband.

Most people are hesitant to place "Disney" and "relaxing" in the same breath. These people have yet to experience French Quarter.

We have just returned from a beautiful vacation at this gem of a resort (August 9-16 2022). Three strides into our walk down the pathway, my husband and I simply stopped and took in the quaint splendor of the resort in front of us... it was beyond any described we had encountered. The detailing is immense and understated all at once, from ironwork to landscaping through the tranquil fountains seemingly everywhere. Our children of course were enamored by the Gator Band meandering the pathway to the pool. Said pool? Unbearable. Sea serpent slide? Check. Splash oasis to rival a water park? Check. Marti Grogs for mama? Aaand checkmate.

The resort is simply perfection in every way. The rooms were delightful, spacious, and lovely. The cast members were warm, welcoming, and so engaging. The grounds are beautiful. The boat ride to Disney Springs was such a serene and peaceful treat! Let's not overlook the petite stature of the resort, making all main locations quite literally steps from wherever your room may be located. If good things come in small packages, French Quarter is that personified. We are talking so perfectly sized you can smell the delights of coffee and baked goodies dancing in the morning air when you step outside. In the best way possible!!

Riverside was a stroll away, where we enjoyed a carriage ride and more lovely amenities.

And now. The food. I want to say "How on earth is this a moderate resort when every morsel we ate was better than thee last (come foe the begniets, friends, but do not sleep on the shrimp and grits or gumbo. Heck don't sleep on anything. Eat. It. All). But I'm hesitant to say anything. Why? Because Disney will hear me and make this a deluxe, and my dream of a resort will be lost to the moderate budget tribe... so earmuffs, Disney. Everyone else? How is this not a deluxe resort?!

If you were hoping for a short snd sweet review, I apologize. I could go on further about this unbelievable resort but perhaps I've made my point. We had an excellent, fun filled, relaxing, and truly magical experience. More than likely, this will be our forever resort for years to come (truth. Already booked for next year)

Note we did not use the bus system, as we prefer to have a rental car having two little tykes on a week long trip.

Pros:

Stellar Ambiance, excellent food and treats, quaint and petite size, riverboats to Disney Springs, proximity to all parts

Cons:

Not. A. Single. One. Zero. I'll bet all my wishing coins you can't find one either.

We really enjoyed our stay at Port Orleans French Quarter. The New Orleans theming is beautiful and fun. They have the best quick service dining options of any resort we have tried. The resort is smaller than other moderates, which is a plus. You won’t have to walk that far to your room even if you aren’t right near the lobby. We loved taking the boat to Disney Springs right from the hotel. The rooms are nicely sized for a moderate hotel. You have to take the resort buses to the parks, but we didn’t have to wait too long for the busses. And, last but not least, beignets! Make sure you stop by Sassagoula Floatworks for beignets. They are heavenly!

Pros:

Great theming Smaller than other moderate resorts Boat to Disney Springs Great food options—better than other quick service dining options

Cons:

You need to rely on Disney buses for transportation to all the parks

First time at WDW and I was expecting to never sleep because of the expected noise in the resort. Imagine my surprise when our resort is quieter than where I live (and I live in a rural town in upstate SC). We were in building 1 which is the furthest from the bus stop, so my disabled mother and I drove closer in the parking lot and took the bus into the parks daily (we had requested closer accommodations but our travel agent never contacted Disney about them, so I can\\'t slight the resort for putting us so very far away from the bus stop). We did take the boat back from Disney Springs one evening and it was lovely. Very quiet, very clean, and MICKEY BEINGETS TILL 11 PM DAILY! What more do you need?!

Pros:

QUIET! Clean, very convenient transportation options for in bubble locations, excellent for adults or older kids

Cons:

limited options for food, could never find an ice machine (more user error than anything)

POFQ is my favorite WDW resort, hands down. I have stayed here many times and have always had a magical experience. The resort is beautiful, quiet, (for a WDW resort) and full of lots of amenities for a moderate resort. The rooms are comfy and have lots of storage. The food options are excellent on site- HELLO BEIGNETS- and there are even more food options a short boat ride away at Disney Springs. The pool is a great place to spend a hot afternoon. With a slide, splash pad, and a pool bar, everyone in has something to do! POFQ is the BEST!

Pros:

Comfy rooms, excellent pool, great food options, close to Disney Springs. Transportation to parks is usually pretty fast. Great resort for families.

Cons:

Close to Disney Springs, but not any parks.

Fantastic moderate resort with the feel of a deluxe resort. I stayed there for the Disney Princess Half Marathon with my two sisters and two nieces. The resort is smaller which makes it more intimate. Beautiful theming and our river view rooms were fabulous. Beignets were AMAZING at Scat Cats Lounge. Quick service meals were good too. I would highly recommend this resort.

Pros:

Mickey Beignets! Smaller resort on waterfront. Short walks to transportation, food, and lobby.

Cons:

Transportation as there is only one bus stop and waits can be long. Hospitality...no cleaning of rooms during a four night stay.

We loved this resort. It’s nice and small so everything feels nearby. We had a River view room and it was so nice and peaceful to walk out of the room and have that view.

Pros:

Boat to Disney Springs, small resort so nothing feels like it’s miles away

Cons:

Cafeteria was small and sometimes was pretty crowded

We returned from a 5 night stay here. We love this resort. It's small enough to get around easily enough (the Main Building, Bus stops, shuttle to the airport, etc.) and our family loves the New Orleans feel. Everyone was so accommodating. We arrived early after taking a red eye, and our adjoining rooms were ready. We were able to freshen up and hit the parks. The food court had your typical food offerings, and the prim rib sandwich was very good. Loved the Beignets from Scat Cats Cafe. Housekeeping was not what I was expecting, even though I knew they would come every other day.

I was expecting typical housekeeping services every other day. They exchanged the towels and refilled the coffee and cups. The did not make the beds.

The boats to Disney Springs seemed to come very often (every 5 - 10 minutes. The bus stop is conveniently centralized to the resort. The only thing I would recommend is that there be markers on the ground as to which line to get into to go to which park. A couple of times I was in the wrong line. The guests actually sorted it out themselves.

Pros:

Small area, beignets, boat service to Disney Springs

Cons:

Housekeeping, bus transportation
