This was our go-to place for years. It was our special meal and one that we looked forward to. But not anymore!!
We ate here Sunday night (Mother's Day). The menu has changed and there is no longer a boneless chicken dish suitable for a pre-teen or picky adult.
My husband and son both ordered the steak which they have gotten for years. They were fatty and a very small cut without any flavor. The number of wings on the sticky wing appetizer is about half the size that it was in August.
Server never brought more bread even when asked.

The meal for 3 adults and 1 child was almost $150 dollars without dessert including tip. No tables in wonderland was taken because it was a blackout day.

I hate to say this but we won't be coming here for dinner on our next trip.

Pros:

Location, bread

Cons:

too expensive, menu change, quality has diminished

we ate here 6/12 for dinner, highly disappointed. love the noodle bowl they had in the past and not pleased with anything offered. did order the lob mac&cheese and brocollini. way too much for each and not very good. Unless the menu is revised will no longer visit Kona Café.

Pros:

seated quickly - what does that tell ou?

Cons:

menu changed and not better, worse in my opinion

Let me start by saying that I love Kona Cafe. I am however extremely disappointed with their new menu. We had dinner there May 5, 2019. The new menu is great for those that want sushi or duck. Not so great if you want a better variety of "Polynesian" fare. I had a steak which was very good, but did not come with any veggie side. Those are purchased separately now. I ordered asparagus. It was very good but expensive and a huge plateful. My companion usually goes for a chicken meal. The only thing on the menu that night was a soup. All of the poultry entrees were served with duck. Not everyone is a fan of duck. So they grilled a plain boneless chicken breast and threw on some sort of veggie for her. The chicken was bland an not seasoned. We did not bother with the new dessert "glasses". Not worth our time. We purchased a Mickey Bar at the snack bar downstairs. It was a better choice. We stayed for a week at the Poly and this was our first dinner on the first night there. We did not go back.

Pros:

Great setting, wonderful staff.

Cons:

Menu has been radicalized and does not appeal to those that are not sushi/fish/duck lovers. I am not recommending Kona for dinner at this time. Hopefully the menu will be revamped again.

It saddens me to write this review of a favorite restaurant. We went on July 20 for dinner. There were ten in our party. We chose this restaurant from past experience, having always enjoyed it. The server, a young man, was inattentive and actually acted like he thought he was something special. Had to ask for the bread and macadamia butter! My sister's tuna was over cooked and the scallops were tasteless. The chocolate fondue was good, but the macaroon cookies were so hard that I couldn't get a spoon into them. This restaurant will no longer be a "must do" or even anywhere near the top of the list.

First, our server was the sweetest and service was fantastic. I was very disappointed with the food. I was super excited to try the Pork Belly Noodle Bowl but I really didn’t live up to my expectations. The pork was very chewy. The sauce and noodles were delicious but this mean was definitely not worth the cost.

Pros:

Two words…Lapu Lapu! This drink was exactly what I needed for the first night of my Orlando vacation. Service was excellent.

Cons:

Overpriced for the quality of the food.

This used to be one of my favorite table service locations at WDW. With the changes in menu items it has only become a priority for breakfast. They removed my favorite salad and some of the great appetizers. I could find something on the menu as my DH and DD love sushi and would want to visit, but again, not a priority anymore.

Pros:

Location is beautiful Great sushi Great breakfast

Cons:

Not a lot of options if you don't like sushi

Used to be great. Now food so salty it was inedible. Asian stir fry with chicken or shrimp. Our server offered to mix them which was a good idea but he racked on extra $9.00 for the 4 shrimp.veggies chopped so tiny that I couldn't identify them. Drinks expensive and weak.

Pros:

Beeper to let you know tablecusxteady

Cons:

Salt, Salt, Salt.

We do not care for the menu changes that they have been making to the dinner menu. I like pork options and the pork duo is not up to the other pork options that they have had in the past. They are now to fatty. My husband wanted seafood but couldn't find anything that appealed to him. He ordered the chicken and did not care for it.

Pros:

none

Cons:

poor menu changes less quality

Kona is usually a must do for us- Lapu Lapu's and good food... unfortunately our last visit in June was not good. We were very disappointed. We were a large party, there were 12 of us in all. 10 of our party were seated together and two of us were seated on our own. This was poor planning on their part as they had smaller parties seated at the end of the table, which is why we were separated. We had the reservation for 5 months, this was not a surprise for them. Drinks were slow to come and warm when we received them. Service was very spotty, the wait staff (we had 2) disappeared for long stretches leading to a drawn out meal. Just overall disappointing. It will be a while before we go back.

Pros:

food was good

Cons:

drinks were warm, service slow, party split up
