A trip to the Magic Kingdom would not be the same for us without arriving by Ferryboat at least once! We love sailing across the lagoon, standing by an open window frame with the breeze in our hair, gazing out at the Polynesian Resort, then the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the Wedding Pavilion, and then we can see the beautiful castle getting closer and closer as our excitement builds …...

Pros:

Sometimes less popular (and crowded!) than the monorail, the Ferryboat can be a faster form of transportation than you realise in getting you to the Magic Kingdom.

Cons:

There is sometimes quite a wait for the next boat if you just miss one, sadly.

The buses are a great way to get around the WDW Resort. No need to rent a car and drive. Just sit back and relax and enjoy your Magical Vacation!

Pros:

The buses are on time and run continuously. If you are staying at a Value Resort such as Pop Century, they have their own bus. So, that bus for Pop Century will not make any other stops to pick up other guests.

Cons:

If the bus driver has to load guests with motorized scooters, it can take some extra time for guests to get on and get seated before departure.

The boats are the most dependable mode of transportation. The monorail is typically not running smoothly when we are visiting WDW. There is nothing worse than being in one of those cars stuck on the rail waiting for it to move! The busses are always crowded for the all-stars resorts. The moderate resorts are better but they too can be overcrowded. I would like to see the handicap accessible people and their parties be queued with others. I hate to see a scooter wheel up to the front of the line as the bus is arriving and get loaded while my family has been standing in line for 30 minutes and do not get on the bus.

Pros:

boats on time and a nice ride monorail is another attraction bus gets you closer to the entrance

Cons:

boats don't service all locations monorail is down more than it is operational buses are crowded

Due to bad reviews we had never tried the transportation system, but Jan 3-4, 2019 when the parks were extremely busy, we decided to save the cost of car rental. We stayed at the Wilderness lodge, buses mainly were on schedule and it worked out quite well. Buses could get crowded, and we had to stand at times which to me is fine as opposed to the hassles of a rental car.

Pros:

Buses get you relatively close to the entrances, don't have to deal with crowded parking lots. Although driving might be a bit faster, in our experience it isn't enough time savings to make up for the cost of a car and the extra walking you might have to do in a big parking lot.

Cons:

We went to the campfire program in Fort Wilderness and the return bus destination label was something different than we were expecting so we sat and waited while two buses came and went. Be sure to know what to look for.

Busses seemed to come quickly to tachometer club.

Cons:

Signs at resort announcing busses was never correct

the boat service in the epcot/hollywood studio area with us seem to be the most reliable means of transportation. The time between boats is pretty consistant and is like riding an attraction. weather is the only problems we have seen, when the water gets really rough or a lot of lighting they dock the boats until the storm passes.

Pros:

relaxing constant means of transportation

Cons:

will stop when bad storms come up

Love the transportation most of the time

Pros:

Usually reasonable wait time. If going to Disney Springs, the bus with it's own lanes is a must because of all the congestion and parking problems related to Disney Springs.

Cons:

Even with the monitors, had 2 really long waits.
