I was at WDW 10/6-10/22. During that time I rode Disney’s Skyliner once, right after it re-opened after the big breakdown. I took it round trip from the EPCOT station. As soon as we took off it stopped for about 10 minutes. We were on a full car of 8 adults. It got very warm very quickly. We soon started up again and the rest of the ride was uneventful. My take aways from my single round trip ride (does that count as two rides?) are;
*It’s a quick way to get from the parks to the Resorts serviced.
*The ride is not as smooth as I’d expected. There are many bumpy, jostling points.
*The view is spectacular. We rode it just as theEPCOT Fireworks were starting and the view was outstanding.
*Disney should consider piping in the music from the fireworks.
*I don’t believe the Skyliner will comfortably hold 10 people as they state. Our car had 8 adults. Anything more would have been too much and a stroller or wheelchair would never have fit in with us.
*Temperature wise we were comfortable though it was at night without the relentless Florida sun. For the short time our gondola was stopped it got very warm very quickly. I would hate to think about how hot it would be in the middle of the afternoon.

Pros:

Quick ride to the resorts. Amazing views, especially of the EPCOT fireworks

Cons:

Worry about loading more than 8 adults in one gondola The gondola gets hot very quickly when it stops.

We’ve used every mode of Disney transportation except Skyliner, and overall I’m very happy. It’s one of the things I like best about going to WDW. They make getting around the resort easy. I don’t have to worry about navigating a strange city, or figure out how to get somewhere. Disney just takes me. All forms of transportation are in good shape and have friendly staff. I’ve never had a cranky transportation Cast Member.

Pros:

Easy to use

Cons:

Buses can be crowded & take too long

From best to not so best - Monorail, skyliner, boats, and then buses. Depends on which resort you are staying as far as time for the buses but all the stops and crowds make the bus the least fav.

Pros:

No other travel destination has the variety of choices for transportation. Makes it special for the whole family and gets everyone pumped for the day at the parks!

Cons:

Depends on the crowds whether Disney transportation is \"fun\"

Love the monorail best as it gets you excited as you progress around the track and approach MK or the resorts!

Pros:

Unique and special.

Cons:

crowded sometimes. Time consuming

personally I love the transportation that Disney provides. Yes it can be full at times, but not having the stress of driving to the parks is perfect. I love the boats. Where else can you ride a boat to multiple magical places. We have even had a bus to our selves on occasion.

Pros:

Less stress, more magic!

Cons:

some times can be full, and wait times may be longer than you wish.

My transportation preferences in order: Walk, Boat, Monorail, Bus.

Pros:

I love, love, love the boats!

Cons:

I just wish they could respond to crowds better. More often than not, overcrowding is a huge issue with all of Disney transportation.

A trip to the Magic Kingdom would not be the same for us without arriving by Ferryboat at least once! We love sailing across the lagoon, standing by an open window frame with the breeze in our hair, gazing out at the Polynesian Resort, then the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the Wedding Pavilion, and then we can see the beautiful castle getting closer and closer as our excitement builds …...

Pros:

Sometimes less popular (and crowded!) than the monorail, the Ferryboat can be a faster form of transportation than you realise in getting you to the Magic Kingdom.

Cons:

There is sometimes quite a wait for the next boat if you just miss one, sadly.

The buses are a great way to get around the WDW Resort. No need to rent a car and drive. Just sit back and relax and enjoy your Magical Vacation!

Pros:

The buses are on time and run continuously. If you are staying at a Value Resort such as Pop Century, they have their own bus. So, that bus for Pop Century will not make any other stops to pick up other guests.

Cons:

If the bus driver has to load guests with motorized scooters, it can take some extra time for guests to get on and get seated before departure.

Fun and convenience

The boats are the most dependable mode of transportation. The monorail is typically not running smoothly when we are visiting WDW. There is nothing worse than being in one of those cars stuck on the rail waiting for it to move! The busses are always crowded for the all-stars resorts. The moderate resorts are better but they too can be overcrowded. I would like to see the handicap accessible people and their parties be queued with others. I hate to see a scooter wheel up to the front of the line as the bus is arriving and get loaded while my family has been standing in line for 30 minutes and do not get on the bus.

Pros:

boats on time and a nice ride monorail is another attraction bus gets you closer to the entrance

Cons:

boats don't service all locations monorail is down more than it is operational buses are crowded
