This was another "anticipated" restaurant of our large group and one that, while we were satisfied, we were not "overwhelmed." Obviously the choices on the buffet offer many traditional African dishes but they also have several standard American Faire dishes for those who may not be as adventurous. It was a great way to sample foods (and find some that you like and want more of!). While they had the names of the dishes listed above them, that didn't always tell you what the dishes were and what was in them. (my brother in law is allergic to mushrooms for example.) We found that we had to ask the chefs what was in many of the dishes and they were not always standing right by the foods so you had to guess or skip it.

The bread and salad selections were varied and the dessert portions were small (so you could try several) but were not that varied and didn't "wow" you.

It was a nice restaurant to try, but not sure I would go back there.

Pros:

Great way to try foods of another area

Cons:

Need explanations of what some foods are - perhaps cards next to them on the lines

Boma is an experience restaurant. A place to go to experience different foods. I am no the overly adventurous type when it comes to trying new foods and don't like spicy foods but I had no problem finding plenty to eat at Boma. Since it is a buffet, I was able to take small samples of various foods on my plate to try. If I didn't like it, not much is wasted, but if I did, I could go back for more.

The children's buffet is very traditional American which takes care of satisfying picky child eaters (and some adults...lol) and the main buffet has plenty of traditional dishes (with African flare) to satisfy adults. There are so many choices in all different areas that you can't go wrong.

The line for main entrees was long most of the time that we were there but most of the other action stations (soups, salads, desserts, children's buffet, sides) were not usually crowded and you could just walk up to those if you wanted to skip the main entrees. Our waiter was ok and cleared our plates quickly and kept our drinks full.

It is a quite expensive buffet ($50 a person), but after all, it is Disney and their buffets tend to be expensive.

Another benefit of visiting Boma is that you get to see Animal Kingdom Lodge, a very pretty lodge with decks you can walk out on and possibly see animals roaming.

Please note that if you are riding the Disney Shuttle to Animal Kingdom Lodge, you want to get off at "Jambo House" and not "Kidani Village." We were talking to a couple after dinner who had gotten off at the wrong stop....lol.

Pros:

Can sample different foods, plenty on children's buffet to keep them happy; Get to see Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Cons:

Lines can be long for some stations. Very expensive

This location had quite a bit of build up on the forums, but i don't believe it met them in my mind. Nothing I tried was poorly prepared, but I was expecting more exotic options. I guess when I looked at the list of what 'might' be on the buffet, I just see things that I would have preferred. My favorites were the black olive humus and the zebra dome.

Pros:

Variety

Cons:

Not Enough Variety

Very limited childrens menu, if you have issues with spices in your food, you have to eat off the kids choices. Desserts were very good although not a huge selection, some have alcohol so read carefully. We had 3 adults, 1 three year old with tip total came to 160.00. The meal was not worth 160.00. I will not do again as I feel there are better buffets for much less.

Pros:

Atmosphere, Desserts very good

Cons:

Cost, very limited childrens menu, if you can't eat spicy food-avoid this restaurant

Boma has slipped a bit since Covid revisons to the menu. There are not as many selections, especially for those who are not interested in big meat. The peel and eat shrimp is gone. The salmon, as always, is cooked to within an inch of being cremated. The soups have been watered down. Not as many salads and the current choices are not as interesting as in the past. In all, the selections have been Americanized. Still worth visiting, however.

Service continues to be superior, especially for a buffet. Servers seem genuinely concerned with customers' dining experiences, and stop by tables frequently to check on beverages and to clear empty plates. People seemed ruder than usual in the buffet lines, with a lot of butting in the middle of service areas. As always, parents seem to lose control of children and one has to be very careful not to run over, or be run into, by unsupervised small children (a problem for me since I use a cane). I was appalled to be seated near a table with three parents and five younger children, most of whom spilled food all over the floor, and refused to stay in their seats. I would have been ashamed to leave a table in such a mess, and it took two servers as well as vacuums and brooms to clean up the mess on the floor. I hope they left a major tip.

Pros:

Still a decent value for DW; food reasonably good

Cons:

Loud; menu has been reduced; less African-flavored food than previously

we are not too adventurous but we come here almost every trip. there's something for everyone. one of our party is allergic to garlic and they always make her a great steak. We do try a lot of the foods but not all! have found few things we cant stand and havent seen those in a while so i cant say what they are. there's a wide range of food.

Pros:

variety. service. interesting things. american foods. you can taste a lot! not too noisy even!

Cons:

the buffet is not very spread out so around the meats and salads can get crowded.

We continue to enjoy Boma because you can choose a different meal no matter how many times you visit. I tend to stick to salads, soups and seafood. Other members of our group of three seniors also tried meats, fufu, breads and rice. It seems that the selection of dishes is slowly being reduced, as the price rises, but Boma is still a good value for theme park dining. Our latest visit was marred by overly tired children (we were there after 8:00 pm) wandering and whining, and by rude people barging into buffet lines when there were obvious lines (as at the carving station).

Pros:

Good selections; good service

Cons:

Can be crowded and noisy

We went here last week for dinner. This is a good buffet and a pretty good selection for the adventurous eater. My favorite soup is the Mulligatawny, so good! I also like the fufu and mash pototoes were good as well as a pasta salad. The desserts just were not as good this time. I actually preferred the ones at Hollywood and Vine. Nice waitress and kept up with our plates and refills as well as asking if I wanted coffee with dessert. The place was hectic! I prefer breakfast and will try to do that next time.

Pros:

Nice selection of entrees and sides, great soup

Cons:

The price has gone way up!
