Party of 12. Everyone enjoyed their food. Took dessert with us. Had Uncle Dale again. Was very good with us even when the teenagers got grumpy. Would do again. The kids really enjoy this restaurant. Want to do this restaurant everytime we do Disney.

DH, DS12 and I ate here in late November on the Dining Plan. We had a late (8:15 p.m.) ADR, which was technically after HS closed for the evening. As the CMs were shooing patrons out for the closing, we headed for Prime Time. We must have been asked 10 different times by 10 different CMs "where are you going??"! Having to explain our ADR over and over was a bit annoying, but we totally understood why they were asking!

When we arrived, we checked in and were shown to a "living room" to wait for our table to be called. After a wait of about 20 minutes, we were taken to a TV Table in a room with 3 other tables. Watching the old TV shows and commercials was a hoot! Our 12yr old son was fascinated.

We had the BEST server EVER. He was originally from the Middle East, and we ended up talking at great length, as my family is from Syria. He even signed my son's Autograph Book in Arabic! He teased my hubby and made my son take his dishes to the kitchen! He made the entire experience fantastic.

As for the food...well...that was a different matter altogether. DH had the sampler platter, which he said was very good. DS had a kids meal (his choice), which he barely touched, and I had the Fried Chicken. The chicken itself was just OK. Barely warm, but tasted OK. The whole plate looked like it had been made up at least an hour ago and had sat around waiting for someone to order it. The mashed potatoes were pasty and flavorless and the greens were just gross.

However, the drinks and desserts were WONDERFUL! DH and DS each had a milkshake as their drink and the Boston Cream Pie and Dad's Sundae were incredible.

Overall, we had a good experience and would return.

Pros:

Server, atmosphere, drinks

Cons:

Food

My friend and I had dinner here on January 21, 2013 on the standard dining plan. I had the "A Sampling of Mom's Favorite Recipes" (Crispy-fried Chicken, Fork Tender Pot Roast, and Traditional Meatloaf with all the fixings, and my friend had the "Mom's Old Fashioned Pot Roast". I loved the chicken and meatloaf, but the pot roast was just OK. On the other hand, my friend loved her pot roast. I had the S'more for desert (my friend was too full for hers), and it could have used a lot more chocolate topping. Overall, we did enjoy the meal. Our server was friendly, but she spent more time "playing" with the larger tables she did than with us, which actually was OK with us. We were tired and wanted a quieter meal. I would recommend this restaurant, but only if you are up to joking around with the CMs.

Pros:

good food, nice atmosphere

My family & I had dinner there on Feb 4th.

We had the onion rings (very good with a yummy horseradish sauce), the sampler for the entree and the s'mores for dessert.

Everything was very tasty. Our waiter (Cousin Tim) was very nice. He just seemed like a genuinely nice guy. He played it pretty straight with us, which was just fine.

Can't wait to go back!

This was the first meal of our vacation on January 25th, and I was concerned. I had been a frequent customer of this restaurant in times past, but had avoided it more recently because it seemed some of the servers took the conceit of the restaurant and used it as an excuse to be obnoxious. Not so this visit!

Our server was spectacular! He fully embraced the concept of the restaurant, and ran with it full tilt without crossing the line to obnoxious. He did all the old favorites (like feeding people their vegetables and bringing uneaten vegetables back to the table disguised as desert) and some new ones as well. Our table of eight was loving it!

The food was good; not great, but certainly not bad, and certainly good enough to make a stop here worthwhile.

My family of 8 just ate here for the first time in January, and it was delicious! We had the Disney Dining Plan and picked this as one of our table service meals. We had advanced reservations, and despite the crowds, the restaurant did a good job getting us seated close to our reservation time.
The atmosphere is fun and really does make you feel like you're sitting in a 1950s kitchen. The food was AMAZING, and the portions were huge. Dessert was included in the DDP, but most of us couldn't finish dessert because we were so full. Both the entrees and desserts were really large.
The staff was friendly and efficient. Our server didn't do much of the "comedy routine" that many people enjoy at the restaurant, but it didn't bother us. He was swamped with customers, and we were happy to eat in peace without someone barking at us to eat our veggies.

Pros:

Great food, Fun atmosphere

Overall a very nice place to eat dinner. My family of 6 ate here 12/10/12. We've eaten here a number of times and all have our favorite dishes. Fried chicken, Pot roast & mac and cheese. I had the chocolate peanut-butter shake, WOW! Best shake ever!
Others had Root-beer floats and my daughter had a vanilla coke which she loved! Our youngest had a sundae for dessert everyone else got the apple crumble to go. We were too stuffed to eat anymore!

Pros:

fun & nostalgia filled place!

Cons:

crowded and loud!

My dh and I ate dinner here on 2/22. We arrived about 15 minutes early for our reservation and were seated within a couple minutes. Our waitress was really friendly and explained the "rules" to my dh, who had never been there before. He had the pot roast and brownie sundae (on ddp) which he enjoyed. I had the chicken pot pie and smores, which were very tasty. We both noted that the meals were extemely heavy, and we felt over stuffed upon leaving. Of course, this is the style of the meals in the 50's, but I think next time we want to eat in Hollywood Studios we will stick to the Sci Fi Dine in!

Pros:

service, atmosphere

Cons:

foods rather heavy, filling

Awesome place for lunch! Portions were small on the sampler, yet my wife got the chicken pot pie that was massive! Service was great, server was funny and into the theme of the harsh 50's parent (no elbows on the table, sit up straight!). We were in a side room with 3 tables, half way through our meal, a family came in. The mom told the one child to sit in a certain seat and he went ballistic, parents didn't do a thing to quiet him, was very annoying considering the cramped area we were eating. But that isn't the restaurants fault!

Pros:

Great themeing, service, and food

Cons:

noisy, small portions

Ate here end of Feb. Has been many years since last time, but decided to go again. Still the same fun as I remembered. DH had the sampler plate (he said my meatloaf is better, but the fried chicken was the best he's ever had). I had the meatloaf and agree with DH. Although it was good. Kids meals were good. Desserts good as well. We are a family that the servers could really play around with, although our waitress, while good, didn't go too overboard with the gags. Very good and will return again.

Pros:

Fun atmosphere, food
