WARNING: You’re Taking a BIG Calculated Risk by Riding Disney’s NEW Ride Without This $13 Item

It’s a joyful celebration — Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is now OPEN at Disneyland!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

It seems like we’ve been counting down forever for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to open in Disneyland ever since its sister ride in Disney World opened this past June. While you’ll spot a few differences between the two almost identical attractions, there’s one other HUGE difference that seems to be leaving some riders in a less-than-joyful mood.

Disneyland’s newest ride is finally open, and it’s causing quite a lot of commotion among those who have had the chance to ride. After visiting the attraction and making a big splash on our way to Tiana’s party, we can safely agree with Disney experts: this ride can get you VERY wet.

It seems that some people have a new complaint about the ride (or a new benefit if you like getting drenched on water rides). If you have recently taken a ride on the brand-new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disneyland, you might have noticed warning signs posted that “you may get wet,” and Disney is NOT kidding. In fact, by “wet,” it’s more like getting completely soaked.

Our reporter confirmed that the splash at the end of the ride produced a pretty big wave of water. Even when we sat in the last row, we still got splashed by the giant wall of water.

It seems like other people agreed, too, and we saw a LOT of people wearing ponchos on the ride. Even if you have a poncho, you might want to bring an extra pair of clothing — just in case!

If you’re looking for suggestions, we LOVE the Frogg Toggs ponchos you can buy on Amazon. It’s lightweight and easily packable and does a great job of keeping us dry.

The ponchos are pretty reasonably priced, too, so it’s totally worth the investment.

So what do you think — is taking a ride on Disneyland’s newest park ride worth risking getting soaking wet? Or would you pass on this ride entirely? We’re interested to know your thoughts.
