Why Disney Experts Go HERE Right at 4PM During Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

There is this special term that only Disney experts will understand: “Magic Shots.” Think of it like a photobomb, but the Disney version. You might not know your photographer is even taking a Magic Shot until the photo appears in your My Disney Experience app — it’s like a magical little surprise!

We love the holiday fireworks!

Why are we talking about Magic Shots? Well, if you happen to visit Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party this year, there are a few FUN photo opportunities you might want to check out. We’re talking fun little holiday scenes you can step inside, Magic Shots, and rare character meet-and-greets! Wanna see what’s available this year? Let’s take a look!

We’re reporting from the very first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party this year, and we had a jolly good time! This paid event is a seasonal exclusive, and it takes place on select nights in Magic Kingdom. There’s a special parade, fireworks, free treats, character meet-and-greets, a stage show, and more! Do yourself a favor and get some free hot chocolate, OK?

The first thing you should do during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is grab a map. This will be your guide to all the party-exclusive attractions open during the event. If you want to snap some photos with rare characters (including SANTA), the map will tell you where to go.

Additionally, we recommend heading to a PhotoPass Cast Member on Main Street, U.S.A. early in the evening — just as the party is getting started. Why? Get those holiday Christmas Card photos while the sun is still out! We also recommend asking a PhotoPass Cast Member if they have any special holiday Magic Shots. You never know what they might be able to do for you!

In the past, we’ve seen some pretty fun party-exclusive Magic Shots, like this Muppets Christmas Carol photo at Liberty Square.

Magic Kingdom also has several fun little photo ops set up around the park again this year! You can find photo frame backdrops in a few spots around the park, like Tomorrowland and Adventureland.

Fun photo op

We found some fun MagicShots in front of Cinderella Castle. This one has Santa and his reindeer flying above Emma!
