Disney Drops FIRST Official Trailer for New ‘Thunderbolts*’ Movie

Marvel Studios continues to release new, successful movies in theaters.

The recent release of Deadpool & Wolverine proved to be extremely successful for the franchise, especially as an ‘R’ rated movie. But the studio has more shows and movies on the way, and a new trailer was just recently released for an upcoming new movie!

Thunderbolts* takes a new approach to the Marvel Universe. Instead of big name heroes, this is a new movie about “bad guy” antiheroes from several of the other top movies. The new movie will be released in May 2025, and the new poster and trailer look pretty great!

In the trailer, you see Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, Bucky Barnes, Ghost, Taskmaster, and a US Agent. To get caught up with who each of these antiheroes is, you may want to watch a few other Marvel movies, including Black Widow, Ant-Man and the Wasp, the Captain America movies, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

While Disney is moving toward fans not needing as much backstory to watch its shows and movies, this movie clearly needs you to know a bit about each of these characters and their backstories to follow the plot. However, if you simply enjoy action movies, the trailer may be a good indication that we’re in for an action-packed film!

The antiheroes are being assembled to take on a greater threat, and it looks like we’ll be getting a lot of action from Yelena Belova and the one and only Bucky Barnes. We’ll be interested to see how this new movie that doesn’t feature any well-known heroes such as Captain America, Ant-Man, Black Widow, or others does in the theaters. But based on the trailer, it looks like it will be a pretty fun movie to watch!
