The Big Disney World Hotel Perk You Need to Plan AHEAD For

We know a thing or two when it comes to planning a Disney World trip. Oh wait, it’s our life!

Driving to Disney World

Want to know the ins and outs of booking a trip? You know who to go to. Trying to learn the best money-saving tips for the parks? You’ve come to the right place. That’s why we’re taking the time now to warn you about a change that may impact your 2025 Disney World trip! So without further ado, let’s get into it.

Did you know Disney World is getting a brand new hotel perk next year? That’s right — starting on January 1st, 2025, Disney World hotel guests will be able to enter one of the Disney water parks for FREE on their check-in day. Yes, it’s FREE. Yippee! We know — water parks aren’t for everyone but if you’ve considered it and avoided buying a ticket with the water park add-on, this might be for you!

Typhoon Lagoon

This perk is only available for those with check-in dates from January 1st to December 31st, 2025. Everyone hoping to get into the water park must be listed on the hotel reservation and yes, it’s also available for Disney Vacation Club stays.

So how does this change how you plan ahead? Well, you’re going to want to take one of our favorite cruise packing tips and apply it to your packing for Disney World. Have you guessed it yet? It’s tossing a swimsuit in your purse or backpack! That way when you arrive at your hotel, you can drop off your luggage, change clothes, and you’re ready to go.

Disney’s Art of Animation

Remember, even if it’s before check-in time at the hotel, Disney resorts will store your luggage for you. Just locate the Bell Services and they’ll take care of them for you.

That’s why it’s even more important to pack the swimsuit somewhere accessible! You don’t want to give a Cast Member your bag, realize you forgot to grab your water park essentials, and then have to get the bag back out and repeat the process over again.

Although a swimsuit is one of the most important things you need at a water park for obvious reasons, this also stands for other water park essentials including sunscreen, rashguards, and anything else you may need.

In recent years, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon have not been open at the same time, so you’ll get to visit whichever park is open. Disney recently announced that Blizzard Beach would reopen in November meaning anyone using the perk in early 2025 will likely get to go there for free! For reference, it switched back to Typhoon Lagoon being open in mid-March 2024 but that has not been confirmed for 2025 just yet.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach

Blizzard Beach is home to many popular attractions with all types of thrill levels. You can relax in the lazy river or (if you’re braver than me) ride the Summit Plummet waterslide and plunge 12 stories! 😱

So when it comes to packing for your 2025 Disney World trip, be sure to keep this change in mind. It’ll make your life easier and start your vacation off right!
