Genie+ as a whole confuses a lot of guests, and we get it! We mention the importance of waking up early to get those virtual queue spots and Lightning Lane reservations all the time, but did you know YOU may not need to be the one to book them?
While we were in the parks the past few days, we tried something out. Guest services can help you out with many things on your Disney World day — help make dining reservations, get you an attraction redemption pass if something’s gone wrong, and so much more.
We found out that they can also help you make Individual Lightning Lane selections as well as get a spot in a virtual queue. However, this doesn’t give you an advantage over other guests, and it actually might be a hindrance. So when would you use this service?
If your phone has died, or your group really struggles with technology, asking guest relations for help may be a good idea. However, they can only be made if there are spots available in a virtual queue, and as long as Individual Lightning Lanes haven’t sold out.
As a reminder, there are only 5 rides in Disney World that offer Individual Attraction Selections — TRON Lightcycle / Run, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Rise of the Resistance, and Flight of Passage — all the other ride lines can be skipped using the normal Genie+ paid feature.
