Disney and Universal are some of the most popular theme parks in the country.
Both companies have introduced new projects over the last few years, like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Universal’s VelociCoaster. As it turns out, these new additions, among others, have actually won both companies awards in the latest Theme Park Insider Awards!
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has won Best New Attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance won Best Attraction, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge won Best Theme Park Hotel.
Disneyland also won some awards with Blue Bayou winning Best Theme Park Restaurant, Fantasmic! voted Best Theme Park Show, and their holiday presentations won Best Holiday Event.
Tokyo DisneySea was awarded Best Theme Park and Bob Weis, recently retired global ambassador and former president of Walt Disney Imagineering won Insider of the Year!
As for Universal, Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights was named Best Halloween Event and the VelociCoaster won Best Roller Coaster. Halloween Horror Nights, the VelociCoaster, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Rise of the Resistance were also all repeat winners from 2022!
