This past week we’ve seen record-breaking temperatures as an arctic blast made its way across the county. Unfortunately, that meant many were left scrambling as their flights were delayed or canceled. While many airlines recovered on Monday, Southwest continued to struggle amidst this severe weather.

Earlier today, CNBC shared that airlines have canceled more than 17,000 flights since Wednesday.

As of Monday afternoon, Delta has canceled 9% of their schedule, JetBlue 6%, and American less than 1%. These travel disruptions have caused many a lot of unwanted stress this holiday season, and we hope that these flight cancelations get resolved soon.

UPDATE: On Tuesday, December 27th, the Department of Transportation said that they will be looking into Southwest Airline’s “unacceptable rate of cancellations and delays”. We’ll keep you updated as the more information is released.
