Are you a Disney+ subscriber?

There’s plenty of content to be enjoyed on the streaming subscription service, especially for fans of Marvel and Star Wars and fans who love watching Disney movies at home. But is Disney+ worth the cost? We asked our Facebook readers to see what YOU had to say!

Disney+ costs $7.99 per month or $79.99 annually. It can also be bundled with Hulu+ and ESPN+ (prices vary depending on which Hulu service you choose). So is it worth it? Here’s what you said:

Yes, Disney+ Is Worth It

Many of you feel like Disney+ is worth the monthly subscription cost. AllEars reader Johanna said, “Absolutely. I watch something on it at least once a week. I have Hulu and Netflix that cost me more and I watch less.”

Kendra agrees, “Definitely. My dad watches the original Star Wars movies constantly. Niece and nephew are watching Turning Red on repeat. And I watch just about everything! We are definitely a Disney family.”

Charli said, “Yes. I debated whether to keep or cancel when renewal came up, but I watch it regularly – the original Star stuff is really good, and the Disney content too. I really like the behind the scenes stuff – watched ‘Behind the Attraction’ last night and loved it.”

Bud said, “Personal thought…Yes, it IS worth the price. Disney shows – old and new, Marvel shows – including the Netflix originals (Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage, etc.), Star Wars movies and series…Plenty to make it worthwhile.

Rosa said: “Yes! Between Star Wars, Marvel and National Geographic series it is worth every penny! Not to mention all the cool movies and Disney sitcoms that my daughter loves to watch! We use it almost every day.”

Jenny even mentioned that it helps to have that subscription to save some money at Disney World, too: “Yes, especially if you have a Disney World trip this summer and can apply the new Disney+ promo to your vacation!”

No

Some of you don’t feel that Disney+ is worth it, though. Dave said, “Nope. We seldom watch it. Not enough classic Disney, which is what I was hoping for. Although there are a few really good behind the Scenes Disney documentary series such as the Imagineering series, and Prop Culture. But others than that I really am not interested in the newer Star Wars things, and have zero interest in Marvel. All that’s left is teen oriented crud. It’s part of our package, but if we were paying for it by itself it would have been long gone. If you want to see really crap filler programs like the Sunrise program (A camera at the WDW parks watching the sunrise there. Whoop de doo.) then go for it.”

Claudia couldn’t justify the cost either, “No. Have no littles. Didn’t watch enough to warrant an extra fee monthly.”

Monica felt the same way: “No…I don’t think I’ve watched more than 20 hours since I got it when they started. I’m going to be canceling it…”

  1. I keep reading the comment “not enough classic Disney” and wonder what movies he’s looking for and cannot find. Both in terms of animated classics, shorts, and classic live action movies are all in the catalogue.

  2. I think the main issue is that there are so many streaming options that it is hard to find the time to watch it. I do keep the subscription because my young son likes to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and other shows. Once he ages out of the programs, I will likely cancel my subscription because Disney+ has poor programming in my opinion for an adult. For example, Disney owns the rights to “Moonlighting” and should make that available for fans of the show.

  3. I love the Encanto music and watch the movie over and over just for the music. It’s worth the price for me. I also watch the Marvel offerings and a lot on the National Geographic channel. I do wish that there were more new offerings on National Geographic, but the subscription is still worth it for me.
