Three of the Most Popular Rides in Disney World Are Closed Right Now

Magic Kingdom is having some awesome highs and pretty major lows today.

The new Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade debuted earlier today with tons of fun character appearances! But right now, THREE of the most popular attractions are temporarily unavailable.

As of writing, all three Magic Kingdom mountain rides are unavailable. If you were hoping to ride Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, you’re out of luck at the moment.

UPDATE: Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad have since reopened and are currently available.

Space Mountain

Splash Mountain has been closed for scheduled refurbishments, but it was supposed to reopen today, February 11th. However, it has not yet accepted any guests, and Cast Members aren’t sure when it could return.

They told us recently that they’re still hoping for it to open at some point today.

With the Splash Mountain closure, many guests turned to the nearby Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

However, this ride is now also temporarily shut down.

On the other side of the park, Space Mountain has followed suit. This ride is currently closed, and we don’t know when it could reopen.

Over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Expedition Everest (another mountain roller coaster) is also closed for refurbishments. Clearly today is not the mountains’ day!

It’s down for now!
