Guests don’t always take advantage of them, but Disney World has so many more activities than just what you find in the theme parks!
Disney World is also home to two water parks, Disney Springs, several resorts to explore, 2 mini-golf courses, and 4 regular-sized golf courses. And if that last item is the thing that draws your attention, then you need to know about an upcoming opportunity for junior golfers!
This summer, Disney World will once again be hosting a PGA Junior League Golf season for boys and girls ages 13 and under. Each team in the league usually has between 8-12 players, and Walt Disney World’s team will be captained by Michael Schlager, the PGA Director of Instruction.
The Lake Buena Vista area will likely have between 4-7 teams that compete during the season of April-July. In the games, the players wear numbered jerseys and play in a two-person scramble format across 9 holes. To participate in the upcoming season, the cost is $425 plus tax, per player, and includes team jerseys, golf balls, bag tags, and 10 weeks of coaching/practice sessions.
Rory McIlroy and Rickie Fowler from the PGA Tour, Michelle Wie and Lexi Thompson from the LPGA Tour, NBA MVP Steph Curry, and Olympic Soccer Gold Medalist Alex Morgan all serve as PGA Junior League Ambassadors. For more details on this event and to register, click here.
We’ll make sure to look out for any more interesting events coming to Disney World, so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!
