NEWS! Mads Mikkelsen Will Replace Johnny Depp in Final ‘Fantastic Beast’ Film

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a film series based on the Harry Potter franchise.

Two movies have been created in the series and a third is already in production. The first movies featured Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindewald. Recently, it was announced that Depp quit the film after being asked to resign by Warner Bros. A replacement for Depp in the series has just been announced. 

The studio announced that Mads Mikkelsen will play the wizard Gellert Grindelwald, replacing Depp. Mikkelsen has been featured in major films Casino Royale and Doctor Strange. According to the Wrap, no scenes will need to be reshot with Mikkelsen and production will continue moving forward.

The film’s release has been delayed and is set to premiere in summer 2022. Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, and Jude Law will return to the third film in the series as well.
