Splash Mountain is off to a rough start this morning in Disney World.
The ride has seen some major animatronic malfunctions and was temporarily closed just two weeks ago. We noticed the attraction is down once AGAIN this afternoon.
We noticed the boats were empty and piled up behind each other. Multiple empty boats are usually an indication that the ride is unavailable.
We could hear Cast Member announcements being made inside the attraction. There was also a Cast Member spotted walking on the tracks to inspect the ride.
The line was empty which means the ride was facing an extended closure.
We spoke to a Cast Member and they stated the ride hasn’t been available since opening this morning. It’s a two-hour process for the ride to begin boarding guests. Once they are able to solve the technical difficulties, the ride will open two hours after that. If you’re in Magic Kingdom right now, keep checking the My Disney Experience app to check the ride’s closure status!
