12. Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa

Score: 7.9

Saratoga Springs

“My family has stayed at Saratoga Springs twice and enjoyed our stay each time. The resort theming is beautiful and well maintained. On our first visit we stayed in a building facing Disney Springs; we could hear music from the House of Blues every evening which added to the magic of the resort.”

“Resort itself is very pretty with views of the golf course. The treehouses are awesome. Always have had clean rooms but this resort we have always had bus issues where we wait much longer than the twenty minutes and the Buses are always full.”

“Stayed at Saratoga a few times. Very conveniently located to Disney Springs, which is great. Rooms are nice, feels very private and secluded but the property is pretty spread out and its quite a walk up to the food area.”

11. Beach Club Villas

Score: 8.3

Beach Club Two Bedroom Villa

“Location, Location, Location! Easy Walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios…Pool area is great but huge (be prepared to hunt for your family members and friends). Rooms are very pretty and the layout of the 2 bedroom suite made it easy for 8 of us to easily get ready.”

“The room was clean and well maintained. The location of DVC Building in relationship to the BCI makes me think the BCV were an after thought. I don’t see myself staying at BCV again.”

“Lovely private pool, fabulous Storm-a-long Bay pool, access to numerous restaurants in area all accessible by foot or boat, and leisure walk to Boardwalk for nightly entertainment too! Difficult to book because of its popularity if not your home resort.”

10. Old Key West

Score: 8.3

Old Key West

“Old Key West is by far my favorite resort. I love the deep of the resort and how convenient it is to everything. Plenty for kids to do. Our favorite area is Turtle Pond.”

“I like being able to park in front of my room and not have to carry luggage down a hallway. I enjoy taking the boat to Disney Springs. Lobby is usually not crowded to ask questions and get info.”

“If you are looking for a large room to accommodate a large family or families and a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of the parks, then Old Key West is for you. If you want to be close to all the action and will be upset if you don’t get a room close to the main area, then you should probably pick something else.”

9. Kidani Village at the Animal Kingdom Lodge

Score: 8.4

Kidani Village Views

“We really loved the room and the ability to see the animals at any time. Kidani was the first bus pick-up and drop-off (vs. Jambo), which gave us better transportation options to the parks. It was rather limiting, though, not having a quick service location on-site.”

“I enjoyed staying at Kidani Village. The room was spacious and I loved having a 2nd bathroom in the 1 bedroom suite. The suite was set up like an apartment and had all the amenities of home. We loved having the Savannah view and really enjoyed watching the animals roam.”

“Very pretty scaled back version of the lodge but with few amenities. No quick serve for those coming in late, gotta stop at Jambo House. This is a VERY quiet resort.”

8. BoardWalk Villas

Score: 8.5

Boardwalk Studio Villa

“Amazing staff, gorgeous views from rooms, stunning lobby, more to do than any other WDW resort.”

“We purchased all our DVC Points at the BWV’s because we love the exterior architecture and the design and furnishing of the Villas. The latest interior furnishings remind us of a typical Hampton Inn and we have now started staying at the Beach Club Villas.”

“The resort is awesome! The rooms are well-appointed, the Boardwalk itself has many amenities, and the location to EPCOT & Hollywood Studios is wonderful!”

7. Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary Resort

Score: 8.6

Bedroom at Bay Lake Tower

“We just returned from a week stay in a one bedroom villa, and loved this resort-it is our now officially our favorite. We had a lake view (rm 7910), but could see the fireworks from MK easily.”

“One of my favorite places, Walk across the street to MK, hop on the monorail to TTC to Epcot. Beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, very few bad views in the building, great food options.”

“It doesnt have a real Disney feel but it is themed very well to be a modern but comfortable resort. The nearness to the Magic Kingdom cannot be overstated. There are so many food options and shopping options as well.”

6. The Villas at the Grand Floridian

Score: 8.8

Studio room at the Grand Floridian

Our readers say:

“This was on my bucket list and it did not disappoint. We stayed here in July as a family. The villa studios sleep 5 with a pulldown bed so its great.”

“Room was in excellent condition and very clean. Housekeeping well done. Bell services were fast. Very much enjoyed our stay here and will be glad to visit again.”

“The villas are beautiful. Everyone was so helpful from the cast member who contacted us before our visit to see if we needed any help with planning to the staff at check in and housekeeping.”

5. Boulder Ridge Villas at Wilderness Lodge

Score: 8.9

Studio at Boulder Ridge

“We just returned from a week stay in a two bedroom villa. The villa was roomy, comfortable, and beautiful. We were very close to the bus stops, and not far from the main lobby.”

“The Wilderness Lodge is our home resort and we are so happy it is. The lodge is absolutely stunning. We usually reserve a two bedroom villa and it is quite comfortable for a week long stay. I especially like two bathrooms for our family. We love the convenience of having both boats and buses for our transportation.”

“We stayed at the Villas and again it was a great experience. The cast members at WL are very friendly and helpful.”

4. Polynesian Village Resort Villas and Bungalows

Score: 9.0

Polynesian DVC Studio

“Our room was clean and well appointed. We had a view of the lagoon and could see the fireworks over the Magic Kingdom from our patio. My son and I sat outside eating a quick breakfast each day before heading to the parks and sat outside for a little bit each night enjoying the view.”

“Great views of magic kingdom, very nice rooms, staff is peasant and accommodating, restaurants are great here, both pools are very nice, was very quiet all thee times we stayed here.”

“First ever stay at the Poly as a new DVC member and we were not disappointed. We loved the theming, the smells, the food and not to mention Ohana!”

3. Copper Creek Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Score: 9.0

Copper Creek Villas

“Love Copper Creek! The rooms feel like resort rooms and not like an apartment. The microwave is great for reheating leftovers or burning popcorn. Having a sink means you can easily wash your reusable mug at the end of the day, or your new reusable mug that you just bought.”

“We stayed in a 3 BR Villa and it was heaven. Two bedrooms with 2 queen size beds/each, and a king sized master suite. The suite is enormous, with a full kitchen, and 3 bathrooms. A HUGE dining room table that could easily seat 10-12 people. Our measly 6 people looked pitiful using one end. Super comfortable, we came in with every intention of going to MK the next day (this was pre-pandemic), but the room was so wonderful and comfortable, we just ended up staying in and taking it easy that day. If you don’t order the room service nachos, you’re really missing out!”

2. Disney’s Riviera Resort

Score: 9.0

The Riviera Resort Tower Studio room only sleeps two!

“This resort exceeded my expectations. We stayed in a beautiful standard view 2BR villa. It was large, spacious, plenty of storage and absolutely sparkling clean. I cannot rave about this enough, and I am very picky.”

“This resort is beautiful. The dining options are the best at any Disney resort on every level, quick service, coffee, and table service dining. We loved being able to take the skyliner to Hollywood Studios and Epcot. The courtyard with games is great for families and the artwork throughout makes you feel like you really are in the French riviera.”

“Riviera is amazing!!! We stayed for the first time in Dec 2021. The deluxe studio room was perfect for our family of 4. We love the decor and every food option was delicious. It is relaxed luxury!”

1. Animal Kingdom Villas at Jambo House

Score: 9.3

Animal Kingdom Lodge — Jambo House Lobby

“I love this resort. The animals are amazing, the views are spectacular, if you are able to get a savanna view. Simply amazing!”

“We booked a standard room & were fortunate enough to receive a newly renovated room with a savannah view. The room was spacious & clean.”

“I LOVE this place! The rooms are really spacious and laid out well. The savanna view is the best! Waking up to African animals walking past your room while you are having a cup of coffee is surreal. Having breakfast at Boma is a must!”

  1. Thanks for this list! I have such a hard time picking resorts during the planning process, I almost always change my mind at least once. Even though we aren’t DVC members (yet) overviews like this really help us make up our minds because at this point, every trip is research. I’m also looking forward to seeing more info about the DVC Cabins at Fort Wilderness and the tower at the Polynesian. The cabins in particular look really fun, especially for kids who might like the extra activities offered at Fort Wilderness! -Lindsey

  2. I totally disagree! Wilderness was the worst DVC resort I’ve stayed at. We had so many issues while staying there it totally didn’t even feel like Disney to me.
