Have you ever purchased lots of souvenirs at Walt Disney World only to find that you don’t know how to get them home safely?

We have been in this situation one too many times, so we’ve pieced together a few hacks to make sure that all of your precious souvenir goodies make the journey back home safely.
Here’s a look a seven easy hacks to get your Disney mugs, ornaments, and more home in tip-top shape.
Put Things in Your Shoes
Ever wondered where to shove little breakables like ornaments? Well, we personally like to roll them up in a pair of socks and slip them into a pair of tennis shoes. Then, your little souvenirs won’t move around as much, and they will have some comfy padding to help keep them safe.

Wrap Items in Clothes
If something is too large to place in your shoe, you can wrap it in a t-shirt or a pair of pants. Much like using newspaper when moving, this little extra exterior layer will help protect breakable items in your suitcase. And even if it’s not breakable, it can keep things from getting scratched or from banging around inside your suitcase.

Ship Them
Did you know that at the parks you have the ability to ship an item home directly? This is done through UPS or FedEx. Just be sure to chat with a Cast Member about it because they will have all the info you will need about proceeding with shipping your beloved Disney items home.

Some hotels have business centers that you can ship out of as well. These locations include: Boardwalk Inn, Contemporary, Coronado Springs, Grand Floridian, Yacht Club, and Swan and Dolphin. Now, both of these options will likely cost you an additional fee, so talk with a Cast Member to see if this is a good option for your family.
Keep Your Receipt
Another important thing to do is to keep your receipt. While it is not guaranteed that Disney will be able to solve an issue if you find that your purchases are broken once you get home, things should be a little easier if you have your receipt.
If you do come home to find that some of your souvenirs did not make it home in the best shape, we recommend contacting Guest Services.
Pack an Extra Tote
If you’re planning on buying a large amount of Disney merch (or some giant plush!), we suggest bringing an extra piece of luggage or a collapsible tote or duffle bag. Then, you can unfold it and use it when bringing all your great Disney finds back home!

Bring Bubble Wrap
And if you really want to ensure that your breakables will make it home safely, why not pack a bit of bubble wrap? You can cut this into pieces and place it at the bottom of your luggage or unroll it when you’ve got your suitcase packed at home and lay it over the top before you zip up your luggage before heading to the airport. Then you’ll have a full roll of bubble wrap ready to keep your new mugs safe!

Use a Disney Bag
Don’t forget to use those Disney merchandise bags to your advantage. You can use those as a carry-on when hopping on a plane… even the massive ones! So if you need an extra bag or a bigger bag, just ask a Cast Member and they should be able to help you.
