Fantasyland Expansion – Behind the Wall with Imagineer Chris Beatty

This blog contains 3 videos with Imagineer Chris Beatty – all talk about the Fantasyland Expansion. The first 2 videos are all about the themeing of the first section open, Storybook Circus. The last video is an overall update that Chris gave the Media.

I had the opportunity to get a hard hat, behind the wall peek at the construction that’s going on in the new Fantasyland in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom on Thursday, April 26.

Although there were no photos or video allowed behind the construction wall, I was able to record Chris beforehand, as he explained the project in some detail.

In this first video, Chris described the theming and backstory of the Storybook Circus as well as the new Dumbo Attractions

In part 2 of the video, Chris describes the Great Goofini’s Barnstormer!

In this final video, Chris addresses the Media with a new update on the Fantasyland Expansion Project

  1. A great info as usual! I am hoping to be able to eat at ‘Be Our Guest’ on Halloween Weekend. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a soft opening.

  2. Hi Deb! I want to start by saying I LOVE your work on allears.net and WDW wouldn’t be the same for me without all of the information and details I learn from your website.

I have a quick question… (or should i say.. I’m fishing for a reason to hope!) It has been stated that the Fantasyland expansion and the Be our Guest Restaurant will be “open in time for the holidays”. My girlfriend and I are visiting again 11/11 though 11/17. we have already booked our flights, thus we cannot change our travel dates. Is there any reason to believe that we might have the pleasure of seeing the new additions and dining at the new restaurant by this time??? I know you may not have concrete details.. but i guess i was just wondering what your gut says. Thanks for any help you can give and keep up the magical work!

    Thanks,

    Dominic

DEB: so hard to tell at this point. Clearly by saying “holidays” Disney left themselves lots of wiggle room. It is possible there will be “soft openings” during your visit, but right now we are too far out to tell for sure. I’ll keep my Mickey fingers crossed for you 🙂

  3. After watching these videos, we can’t wait until our next visit to Disney World to see the new Fantasy Land and ride the new rides.

  4. Hi Deb,

LOVE your AllEars Blog and the great stories and updates you provide. Cannot wait to get back to DisneyWorld to see the new FantasyLand attractions! Thank you for keeping the Magic alive for us all year long!

  5. Great video, thanks – we can’t wait for our next trip to eat in the restaurant and to visit the Little Mermaid. The detail in there looks amazing.

  6. Great update as usual. Funny, whenever I see/hear the updates on the construction, the same thought comes to mind. How “green” is Disney? Never understood why Disney can’t be a leader in green technology
