Disney Magic Panama Canal Cruise – Day 9 Sea Day

May 18, 2008
Port of Call: At Sea
Weather: Hot and Overcast

Another sea day, we love them all!

Today I was up early checking email.

Linda once again spent the morning poolside. I went to see author Jeff Kurtii’s talk on the Art of Disney Parks. It was an awesome talk which explained how different animators would collaborate and add their specialty to a particular Disney attraction. He discussed several artists and animators and their contributions to the early park designs. The crowded Buena Vista Theatre all seemed to enjoy the talk.

After his talk, Jeff entertained questions from the audience and then signed copies of his books in the back of the theatre.

Again, the rest of the day was probably taken up with eating, napping and reading.

Our group decided to have a pre-dinner meet in Sessions, an adult only lounge. We had a great time.

Sharon and Chris enjoy a Margharita!

I ordered a glass of Chappellet red wine blend. A surprise when it arrived with this small tray of goodies with which to enjoy the wine. Some berries, dark chocolate, and blue cheese. It also came with a note explaining some of the differences one might taste as you enjoyed the wine with each item. I really enjoyed the special touch!

At dinner we kept on laughing and enjoyed some fun times with the help of Orlan, our great server!

Our head server, Yolande, enjoyed a few laughs with us as well. She is a fantastic head server!!!

After dinner I returned to the cabin while much of the group stayed out for the late night show in the Walt Disney Theatre

Thus another magical day on board the Disney Magic came to an end.
