Deb’s Avon Walk for Breast Cancer

Relay for Life
Lake Buena Vista, FL
June 2007

Fellow
Disney fan, Robin H, participated in the Relay for Life event in Florida,
just outside Walt Disney World. Cancer is cancer, no matter what description
you put in front of the word.

More than
20 years ago, one man took it upon himself to raise money to support the
efforts of the American Cancer Society. Today, more than three million
Americans participate in Relay events nationwide. Relay For Life is a
fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise
money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During
the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and
take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one
team member on the track at all times.

Relay offers
something for everyone, from the newly diagnosed, to caregivers and friends,
to long-term survivors. Relay For Life represents the hope that those
lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will
be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated.
