Pocahontas
and Friends Character Breakfast

There

was once a Pocahontas and Friends Character Breakfast that
opened on June 17, 1996. It was held at the Wilderness Lodge in Artist
Point.

Joining
Pocahontas was Captain John Smith, Meeko and Governor Ratcliff. Breakfast
was "all-you-care-to-eat" and began with orange juice, coffee
and fresh pastries. Next came scrambled eggs, cinnamon French toast,
multi-grain pancakes, breakfast potatoes, bacon and sausage. Breakfast
cost $13.50 for adults and children ages 3-11 were $8.25.

While
we couldn't find an exact end date to the breakfast, it only lasted
through 1997 or so. Beginning in 1998, Pooh and Friends were the featured
characters at breakfast until 2001.

I
have vivid memories of the Pocahontas and character breakfasts.
Here are several pictures of 10 or 11-year-old me with the characters
and one of Meeko wandering around the restaurant. I remember John
Smith looking at my painted nails and saying something cute and
perfectly in-character like "have you painted your fingernails
with berries?" I was tickled. (Colleen Caleb)

Here
are a few pictures from the Pocahontas and Friends Character Breakfast
in 1996. My how time flies! My daughter, Jordan is the oldest
& she just got home from doing the Disney College Program,
and my son, Conner is about to graduate High School! Brenna is
my baby & she's turning 16 soon. 🙂 (Michelle Lill)
Here
are our pictures from our breakfast at Artist Point with Pocahontas
and Friends. Lots of good food and fun! Our first disney trip
the first week of August in 1997. My kids Joanna and John-Mark
had a great time and we fell in love with Wilderness Lodge. (Jacqueline
