The 13th annual Epcot International Food and Wine Festival will run
September 26-November 9, 2008!

Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival – Great Food Cities of the World

Fine Cuisine and wines from some of the best "foodie"cities in the world will take a bow at the 13th annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. Embark on an epicurean adventure as the 13th Annual Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival showcases the flavors of the world. Explore marketplaces featuring regional foods, wines and beers, learn from renowned chefs and winemakers at special programs and demonstrations, and sample the finest cuisine from around the globe. Plus, be sure to savor the sizzling sounds of the "Eat to the Beat" concert series that boasts a stellar line-up of popular musical acts!

Booking begins at 7 a.m. Monday, August 25, 2008.

GENERAL EVENT INFO

Ratatouille and BocuseBOCUSE D'OR -- World-famous chef Paul Bocuse and country-rat-turned-chef-extraordinaire Remy of the Disney Pixar hit film "Ratatouille" exchange culinary secrets at the France pavilion in Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort. Bocuse, founder of the gold-standard Bocuse d’Or global competition of chefs, brings the USA semifinals competition to the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival September 26 and 27 before an audience of park guests. The contest winner competes at Lyon, France, in January.

FESTIVAL WELCOME CENTER -- Be sure to visit the Festival Welcome Center location in Future World East. This location features the Festival Wine Shop, a champagne and Wine Bar, the Official Book Signing location for celebrity chefs and authors, and the Festival Merchandise Shop with marvelous merchandise and more - including Disney Gift Cards, which you can purchase for a handy way to pay for so much fun at the Festival! * Authentic Taste Seminars - Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays -- Experience a 30-minute seminar series on the origins, tastes and traditions of diverse ingredients such as chocolate, olive oil and salts of the world.

THE PEARVILLE FAIR - Hosted by USA Pears (American Adventure Courtyard) -- Visit this slice of Americana where pears have center stage. Like many traditional county fairs, this one celebrates one of the most important crops from the great Northwest. The variety, flavor, diversity and nutritional importance of pears is presented in a series of activities that are designed to engage and enlighten guests of all ages.

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA -- Explore Melbourne icons such as Federation Square, the intriguing laneways of Melbourne and marketplace scenes from the famous Queen Victoria Market. Meet with the cultural ambassadors, enjoy daily wine seminars, taste wines by the glass at the wine bar and check out Aussie gifts at the shop. Passports are available for purchase for the Wine-Walkabout experience for a tasting tour of the key wine zones of Victoria.

MY LOUISIANA -- Explore the regions of Louisiana through the flavors, sights and sounds of the Louisiana Culinary Trails. Experience the rich and unique culture of this great state at the Riverboat dock where entertainers showcase the music of their region. Visit the Cajun Creole inspired house featuring storytelling and activities for the entire family and stop by the French Market to observe local artisans. Learn about the regional cuisine through daily culinary seminars featuring Louisiana dishes featuring seafood, rice and hot sauce.

THE HISTORY OF BEER IN AMERICA - Hosted by The Boston Beer Company, Brewers of Samuel Adams Beer -- Learn the history of beer in the New World and the awesome art and science of brewing. Seminars daily at 12:30, 1:15, 2:45, 4:15, 5:15, and 6:30 p.m.

SPECIAL 10-DAY EXPERIENCES:

TASTE OF PUGLIA, ITALY- October 23 to November 2 Hosted by Taste of Puglia
Puglia, known as Apulia in Italian, is situated in the Southern region of Italy. The province produces three important Mediterranean crops; wheat, olive oil and wine. In addition, almonds, figs, citrus fruits, diverse vegetables and an ample supply of seafood make this region a gastronomic treasure. Learn how Apulian chefs craft their specialties during this 10-day period on the World Showcase promenade, at the Italy Pavilion.

THE GREEK ISLAND WINE BAR October 16 to 26 Hosted by Wines from Greece
The palette of Greek wine is experiencing a Renaissance... the country boasts an incredible range of indigenous grape varietals and today they are being used to make world-class wines. Visit the Greek Island Wine Bar, adjacent to the Greek Marketplace Kiosk, to sample over 12 wines for sale by the glass.

Bocuse d'Or Grand Gala -- Dine in high fashion and mingle with some of the most respected and high-profile chefs, personalities, and professionals in America at this grand gala and awards ceremony for the culmination of the Bocuse d'Or USA competition at Epcot. The Bocuse d'Or is the acclaimed international culinary competition held every two years in Lyon, France and was founded by the legendary Chef Paul Bocuse. Eight candidates have been selected to compete at Epcot for one of the highest culinary honors in the nation…to represent the United States at the Bocuse d'Or. The winning competitor will be revealed at the dinner.

Party for the Senses, Eat, Drink and Celebrate -- Feast on this tribute to the sensory arts! Oct. 5 -- Napa Valley, Franciscan Magnificat: Franciscan is one of the best red wine estates in Napa Valley. Taste 10 vintages of the Magnificent wine. Presented by: Eric Hemer, Master Somlier (M.S.) and Certified Wine Educator (C.W.E.) and Tony Dalton, District Manager of Icon Estates. Cost: $155

Oct. 12 -- Lebanon, Château Musar: This is a cult wine from Lebanon, established in 1930, making white and reds. Presented by: Bartholomew Broadbent, Founder of Broadbent Selections. Cost: $155

Nov. 2 -- Bordeaux, Château Pontet Canet: One of the great winemaking dynasties of Bordeaux. Guest will taste 10 vintages and learn about the characteristics of each. Presented by: Alfred Tesseron, Proprietor of Château Pontet Canet. Cost: $195

Nov. 9 -- California, Stag's Leap and Faye Vineyards: Detect the differences and similarities of these renowned California wineries by tasting side by side. Guest will taste 5 wines from Stag's Leap and 5 wines from Faye Vineyard. Presented by: Tim Clark, National Wine Educator for Ste. Michelle Wine Estates and Representative for Stag's Leap Wine Cellars. Cost: $195


Epcot Wine Schools -- Enjoy this fabulous, full-day comprehensive program facilitated by a prestigious wine authority. This session includes a celebratory reception and a certificate of completion. All appearances, presentations, and events are subject to change without notice. Inquire at the Information Desk in the Festival Welcome Center for availability due to last minute cancellations.
