New Arena at Walt Disney World Resort Expands National Competition Stage for America’s Youth Athletes

ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex has officially opened a new multi-purpose sports and entertainment arena to help mark its 20th anniversary. The 8,000-seat arena will host a variety of major indoor sporting events, from basketball to volleyball to gymnastics to wrestling. The Arena at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex hosted its inaugural event, the UCA and UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship, this past weekend. The venue will host runDisney Health & Fitness Expos during runDisney race weekends, beginning with the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend presented by Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in February.

Register now for NFL Pro Bowl’s Fun Run Series at Walt Disney World

This is NFL Pro Bowl Week at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. There are many free and open-to-the-public events, including AFC and NFC football team practices. Fans can also cheer on favorite players as they go against each other at the 2018 Pro Bowl Skills Showdown. The NFL Pro Bowl Experience -- a free, interactive fan zone with fun activities for the whole family -- is open daily at 10 a.m. starting Wednesday. Fans can head over to Disney Springs for the NFL Pro Bowl All-Star Pep Rally starting at 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 27. The Pep Rally will feature special entertainment, games, NFL cheerleaders and mascot appearances, and more. Atlanta Braves Team Workouts Underway for 20th Year at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney

This year, the Atlanta Braves will celebrate 20 years of Spring Training at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Fans can see the Braves take on the Toronto Blue Jays on February 25 in the first of their 18 home games. Other notable matchups include the Boston Red Sox (March 3), New York Yankees (March 9) and Mets (March 10, 25 and 29). Fans are welcome to attend workouts (adult admission is $18, while child admission is $13) at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Be sure to bring a marker, as you could have the opportunity to get autographs from your favorite Braves players during practices. There are still tickets available to Braves Spring Training games, which can be purchased through Ticketmaster outlets and at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex Box Office.
