The location is what this location has going for it the most. 5 minute walk to epcot, 15 minutes to HS and access to the entire boardwalk area. The decor is classically decorated and nice if you don’t want cheesy in your face decor. The big downside here is the lack of quick service food options. They do have the Ale & Compass Marketplace, but it’s very limited in what it offers. The pool is absolutely amazing. I’ll prefer this resort the most over its neighboring Boardwalk or Beach club (more updated and nicer than these other two)

Pros:

Proximity to Parks, Nicely updated, good signature and table dining

Cons:

Lack of quick service food options, not enough grocery options in building

My family stayed at Yacht Club in October of 2021. We were there for 10 days total and had a great time. The proximity to Epcot and Hollywood Studios really makes this one of the better places to stay on property. However, bus transportation to the other two parks and Disney Springs is pretty slow. Budget extra time getting to and from those areas. There are great dining options at the hotel and Epcot nearby, and the pool, Stormalong Bay, is fantastic. We did run into a slight Mousekeeping issue, though. I don't know if it was because of covid or not, but our room wasn't getting serviced and we had to keep calling for towels and trash removal. Overall I would reccomend the Yacht Club because the good outweighed the not-so-good.

Pros:

°Walking distance to Epcot and HS °Stormalong Bay °Dining Options °Excellent Customer Service

Cons:

°Bus Service Slow °Mousekeeping?

I was so excited to see I was upgraded to club level upon check in...only to find out club level was closed and they just needed to fill the rooms with people. Seriously, the concierge desk past the top floor elevators was kind of depressing. But I had a huge balcony and a decent water view! The resort overall was nice but a little stuffy for my tastes. It is a dog-friendly resort, so I periodically saw some fur babies and secretly wished I could meet them.

Pros:

Great location, great transportation options for Epcot and Hollywood Studios, great dining options between Yacht Club and Beach Club, and of course Stormalong Bay

Cons:

Kind of stuffy

We have stayed at this hotel several times. The only major complaint is that there is no 24 hr snack bar like the Contemporary used to have. You also have to walk to the Beach Club Marketplace for food a lot,(there is nothing similar at the Yacht Club, although that may be soon to change) which is sort of fun,but not if you are on a tight schedule. Stormalong Bay is nice but a bit overrated. It is not a substitute for the water parks.

Not all Disney hotels handle the crowds well, but this one does. The lobby does not quite look as "Disney" as some of the hotels like the Contemporary do. The Yacht Club is a great choice if there are no younger kids in your party.

The Boardwalk looks just beautiful as the Magic Kingdom at night. It contributes to that "sleeping in the middle of the park feel." One problem is if you are spending a lot of nights at the Magic Kingdom, you have to take the bus at night, but the bus service was decent...most of the time. One time it felt like it took a long time to even get out of the Epcot/Disney Hollywood Studios area. It could just be because it was crowded, and the weather was bad it felt longer. I recommend spending at least one night at the Disney Studios, it is really nice simply to stroll back (or take the boat) back after. The Caption's Grille is one of the best restaurants at Walt Disney World, ever since the Concourse Steakhouse closed. We tried the Yachtsman Steakhouse one night. I got an upset stomach and another member of my party had to spend the whole night in the hotel room because of an even more upset stomach. It must have been an allergic reaction to a preservative they used or something.

It is a problem if you want to spend a lot of nights at the Magic Kingdom, but it is still one of the best hotels in Walt Disney World. The beach/yacht atmosphere is a perfect way to unwind from the parks.

Pros:

One of the best hotels in Walt Disney World. Perfect atmosphere to unwind from the parks

Cons:

No 24 hr snack bar, had to take bus to Magic Kingdom, expensive

Let me start off by saying that the Yacht has been our favorite resort. We have stayed at other Disney resorts but have always preferred the Yacht. We stayed here during Star Wars Weekend 4. It appears that cost cutbacks have reached the Yacht the bar near the lobby was supposed to open at 4 but when I stopped for a cold drink after a hot day I was told it was closed due to staffing problems but I could go to the Crew's cup Lounge. They sell the cups for unlimited sodas but there is no place in the Yacht to fill them during off hours. The bar will only fill at breakfast and not during the evening. You have to walk to the Beach Market to fill. Before we checked out I stopped at the Concierge desk to check on getting discounts for booking a room for next year. The woman gave me a brochure which only covered 2014 and told me to call Disney. Our room had a musty, mildew smell when we entered for the first time and we discovered there was only one queen size bed for the two of us. In the past we had either two queens or a king, needless to say it was very cozy. We still love the Yacht but hope it recovers its charm. It is so convenient to EPCOT and H. S., we walk to both. Also the Boardwalk is a 5 minute walk.

Pros:

location quiet

Cons:

service has declined

We stayed here in December 2020. The overall atmosphere of the resort was fantastic! We loved the view of the lake from our room, and enjoyed the food offerings available. We especially enjoyed the proximity to the Skyliner and to the BoardWalk area. The best things was being able to walk to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. I'd love to stay here when there are no COVID restrictions.

Pros:

Restaurant options. Transportation options (Skyliner and boat), and being able to walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Stormalong Bay pool.

Cons:

Not everything was open fully due to COVID.

Awesome resort! This is one of those resorts that could be both for a couples/adult getaway or a family vacation with the kids. My wife & I stayed in a room with the king bed & we were surprised at how big the room & the balcony was a nice plus. Stormalong Bay is amazing! The dining options were nice, with proximity to Beach Club, Boardwalk, & Swan/Dolphin. Which brings me to the biggest perk of this resort in my opinion...location!! We loved the fact that we could walk to Epcot & Hollywood Studios.

Pros:

Location, Pool, Dining

Cons:

Shares a bus route

This is one of our favorite Disney Resorts. The lobby has a welcoming feeling. The resort itself is very long, if you have trouble walking, request a room by the main elevators. This will give you quick access to the lobby, the store, transportation, etc. Some of the rooms are quite a walk from the lobby.

The rooms itself now have dark laminate floors. I prefer this for the cleanliness. The closets here are also unique and are in an armoire style which allows for a ton more storage.
They still allow dogs at this resort which makes me take a point off. I don’t think dogs have any place at a busy Disney resort for the dogs health and safety as well as the people who are paying 400+ a night to stay here.

The best part about this hotel is the location. A quick walk to World Showcase, Boardwalk, Beach Club, Swan and Dolphin! You can even take an about 20 minute walk and arrive at Hollywood Studios! It’s such an impressive location with loads of restaurants and things to do.

Pros:

Beautiful sprawling pool and a quiet pool, finally have a quick service dining option with a place to fill up your refillable mug, older feeling and welcoming for older guests, quieter than the neighboring beach club, location!!

Cons:

They still allow dogs. When we went in March 2019, a lady was having her dog pee in an area by the pool where people are walking barefoot. There’s no way to regulate this all of the time.

We stayed here for the first time last year. First time upgrading to a deluxe hotel, and it was worth every penny. We loved it! We had a room on the second floor. Stairs are right in the lobby, so easy. Nice to not have to wait for elevators to get to your room. The room was nice, only complaint was it was an adjoining room and the baby crying next door woke us up every single morning. Huge plus was being able to walk to Epcot, and also taking the boat to Hollywood Studios. The Yachtsman Steakhouse is another plus.

Pros:

Location!

Cons:

Price

Beautiful resort with great theming. Long walk down corridors to our particular room though and view was awful from room (was primarily a gravel roof a few floors below and parking lot). We commented that they should have down something special with the roof (maybe a mural or rooftop garden) to make it feel more "Deluxe." We adored the sand bottom pool and long slide. Probably our favorite part when compared to other resorts. The walk over to EPCOT was super convenient except that it was a race morning when we wanted to head in so it was tricky since many racers were on that path. We made it though. Watched part of the evening show from the bridge that goes over to the Boardwalk. We also watched the sword swallower on the boardwalk one evening. My girls enjoyed roaming around the resort and all the thematic touches. There were a great many beautiful backdrops for taking pictures as well.

Pros:

Beautiful, sand bottom pool, great slide, super convenient to EPCOT

Cons:

You pay for what you get...I think Deluxe resorts should include parking since they are top tier. Can be a long walk down corridors from the elevator to a room with little view in you book standard category.
