Review of Magic Carpets of Aladdin

Another (although beautifully themed and decorated) standard spinning ride that you can find at any amusement park. I rated this one slightly lower than astro orbiters because it doesn't provide the great views and lower than Dumbo because it doesn't provide the play space for the young children. It is a nice way to kill time if you are waiting for a POTC fastpass or DAS pass, but I would not go out of my way to ride or wait more that 10-15 minutes for it. May be a good option for those with super little kids who don't make the height requirement for other rides in Magic Kingdom, but even then there are plenty of other family rides with no height restrictions.

Pros:

Cute Aladdin theming. Good way to eat of time if waiting for a POTC fastpass or DAS pass, if the line is super short.

Cons:

Not a unique ride type. Can find it at basically any amusement park or local carnival.

So... I don't think my husband would agree with me rating this attraction so highly, but I love corny humor and I also really like that you can get multiple different experiences depending on who your skipper is. The kids were entertained and it's something that everyone can enjoy, at least a little bit. It's outside (so not in the ac) but it is covered to keep you out of the sun and you usually get a nice breeze. It's also fairly relaxing.

Pros:

Funny and great re-rideability.

Cons:

Sometimes the jokes don't land and the animatronics and scenery are not the most beautiful or exciting in all of Disney.

Review of Haunted Mansion

Even as someone who has only been frequenting Disney for the last few years I can totally appreciate The Haunted Mansion as a classic. The theming is out of this world and it's a great attraction for the entire family. It's not too scary (in my opinion) for little kids and the details and effects are amazing for the older crowd. My son (age 5) LOVES all things spooky, so this is definitely one of his favorites. My daughter (age 7) also really enjoyed it along with the rest of our family including Grandmas and Grandpas.

Pros:

Great for the whole family. Amazing theming and effects. You can ride it over and over and see new things each time. Entertaining pre-show. Cute photo opts outside and on the ride. The list goes on and on.

Cons:

The only thing I can think of that might be considered a con is that it's a more slow moving ride and not thrilling in the aspect of the way you ride car moves, but it's not advertised that way, so I'm not sure if that's a fair "con".

Review of Enchanted Tiki Room

This was cute to see once and the songs are catchy, but is certainly not a must do for me and my family. It is nice that it is air conditioned and it holds my kids attention for a good bit of the show. I totally get that it is a classic for some, but as someone who has only started frequenting Disney in recent years, it just don't do it for me.

Pros:

Cute songs. In the air conditioning.

Cons:

SO many other things I would rather do in Magic Kingdom. Show is the same every time and a bit dated.

Review of Enchanted Tales with Belle

Very cute experience. Definitely geared toward families with younger children. I like that it is interactive and there is a great humor aspect included. I love the meet and great with Belle at the end and the unique signed bookmarks that you get to take home. My daughter has autism and they took some extra time with her to make sure she got to see Belle and interact with her after the show because she was a bit over stimulated with everyone in the room. My son who is more of a pirate than a prince enjoyed the experience, but chose not to do the meet and greet.

Pros:

Super fun if you have little kids, especially if they are a little prince or princess. Funny and interactive. Cast was incredibly accommodating and went out of their way to care for my family.

Cons:

Probably not the best attraction if you have teens or don't have children at all. Is a little long which can be a draw back if you are crunched for time or trying to do a lot of things in one day.

Review of Dumbo the Flying Elephant -- WDW

The classic Dumbo ride that is themed well and very cute. The play area inside is good for really little kids, but I feel like there are SO many other things I would rather do in magic kingdom. I will throw it into a plan if we have extra time, but would never go out of my way to ride it or wait more than 10-15 minutes for it. I might recommend it if you have a really young child that can't make the height requirement for some of the other rides.

Pros:

Super cute theming and a "classic". Play area for little kids (under 5 years).

Cons:

Standard spinning ride that you can find at other amusement parks or even your local carnival.

I know that a lot of people love this attraction and it is in the air conditioning, but I just don't love it. My kids were slightly more entertained by this show then something like carousel of progress, but they did lost interest and have trouble staying seated after about 5 minutes, which is less than halfway through. There is maybe one funny moment, but all in all not for me.

Pros:

In the air conditioning. Some people LOVE it (like my in-laws).

Cons:

Not able to keep my kid's attention. An acquired taste.

I know that many people love this ride and that it is a classic Disney attraction, but for me and my family it is basically a once and done. We added it to our first trip to have the experience, but will probably never choose to do it again. I'm going to say "no" for the recommend second of this review, but if you have never done it and the wait is low, I would say go ahead and check it out. However be cautioned that it may be difficult for children to sit for the entire show. It definitely was for mine. It is a bit long. My in-laws love this attraction and it seems to trend well with the over 50 crowd.

Pros:

In the air conditioning. Cool animatronics. Grandma and Grandpa LOVE it!

Cons:

Long and possibly boring for children. Zero re-rideability in my opinion.

Review of Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin

This was one of my 5 year old son's favorites and it is very cute. The theming in the que is really well done and the Buzz animatronic is really cool. It not thrilling in the sense of the ride movement itself, but I do like the interactive aspect with the shooting and being able to compare your score with other members of your party in other ride vehicles.

Pros:

My son (and probably other move boys of his age range) LOVES it. It is really well themed and pleasing to the eye, especially the Buzz animatronic.

Cons:

If you are looking for a thrill ride, this is not the ride for you. The lines can be long, for the type of ride this is.

Review of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

One of my favorites in the Magic Kingdom. Perfect rollercoaster for the whole family. Younger friends (who barley make the height requirement) won't be too scared, thrill seekers will still have enough drops and turns to have fun and grandma and grandpa wont have to take a 10 minutes break immediately afterwards like they might on something a little more thrilling like Space or Everest. The people in my party who reported motion sickness of some of the other rides seemed to be okay after this one.

Pros:

Great thrill ride. Love some of the views you get while riding. Great for (most) of the family.

Cons:

Ride cars a slightly uncomfortable.
