Not a fan… its pretty and the pool is okay with a small slide but we stayed in the princess rooms, and they were small and very dark, like a dungeon, not a royal suite… it is very spread out and the food was not great. Plus we had a room that was close to the main lobby compared to other rooms and when we swam in the main pool and walked back to the room it was miserable especially with kids! We stayed there for one night and I was done! Never again! I was not the only one that thought when I was complaining a family behind me overheard me and agreed. This is a nightmare for people with children. we walked enough in the parks we don’t want to walk forever back to our room!

Pros:

Pretty

Cons:

Not recommended for families… so much walking and dark rooms

Very dirty

Pros:

Only positive...Store on property was good

Cons:

Room was filthy; bathroom had hair in shower; Bobby pins on floor of room. Was not rectified in the 4 days we were there. Room wasn’t ready for hours. Had to bring own luggage to room Check in and concierge was crowded at all hours of the day. Lines were ridiculous. Had to even stand on line to pick up packages from the parks My recommendation pay a little more money and stay at a better resort. Stay far away from this one!!!!

I have stayed at Riverside 5 times... going back to 1999 when it was still Dixie Landings. It is hands down my favorite resort in all of WDW! I even have a framed print of POR in my bathroom! 🙂 I love the theming, the atmosphere, the cast members, the grounds, the boat, the quiet pools... everything! If I don't stay here, I visit because I miss it so much. Always make a night for YeeHa Bob!! If this were a DVC, it would be my Home Resort!

Pros:

The laid-back lazy atmosphere, the boat ride to Disney Springs, YeeHa Bob, the option of quiet pools, the ability to pool hop at French Quarter.

Cons:

Huge spread out resort so some rooms are a hike to get to the main building. The busses are always crowded and since they make a circle to all the stops at the resort, it can take forever to get back to your room.

Will not return here or any Disney resort. The room was small especially bathroom.
Housekeeping says they are required to do safety checks between 10-4pm.
The issue with this was we requested due to sleeping in on some mornings We wanted no one to come until after 12 noon. They repeatedly came and knocked anyway when we were still sleeping 10am.
They come in look around for no apparent reason. I complained about this many times but to no avail. We have stayed at other resorts at Disney World and nothing like this ever happened. I have health issues and trouble sleeping at night and without getting the extra sleep in the mornings I feel much worse. If I had known about this requirement I would not have stayed here.
Also no housekeeping at all during our stay not that we needed much trash emptied and fresh towels at least but we had to use our own trash bags and chase around the housekeeping staff for towels. For the price of this resort I would expect better than we we received. The food court was just average food. Prices were high for what you got. We stayed the first week of our trip at a Staybridge with two bedrooms and two bath kitchen living room. Very clean and modern updated. We made the wrong decision to stay here at port orleans riverside for our second week. We won’t make the same mistake ever again. The staybridge was half the price or the Disney hotel.

Pros:

Transportation to the parks

Cons:

Daily housekeeping coming in room for no apparent reason to just snoop around I guess. High cost for tiny room: bathroom. No luggage carts at all unless you pay the bell men to help you. There should be available luggage carts at each building but evidently that’s not allowed.

Well where can I begin. Drove in from Texas all night to be told I won’t be able to get a room until the scheduled check in time of 3pm.
I was offered a room to stay in until the next day but apparently that was not my room.
I asked why I just couldn’t stay in that room for the 6 days and 5 nights. The cast member started rolling her eyes .
I asked her to find me another from for a less expensive payment again rolled her eyes. I guess I was bothering her busy night, which to say it was 12:20 am in the morning. I tried this hotel but I have decided to just stay at POP , where arriving early in the morning has never been a problem not even through COVID.
I’m not having a magical Mickey experience this trip. Disney so big now that me never returning wouldn’t even matter.

Pros:

Beautiful scenery

Cons:

Poor customer service

Horrible housekeeping

Pros:

Disney bus was kinda fast

Cons:

I wouldn’t recommend staying here or probably any resort hotel. Not once did they make our beds while we were here. They only took out trash every other day and put the towels on the bed. Room was filthy too and not vacuumed. They didn’t even bother to put the waste bag in the trash can.

Too woodsy for me. Our cabin was so far away from the bus stop we never used it. My grandson was supposed to have a trundle bed. All it looked like was a dog bed

Pros:

None that i could see

Cons:

Not convenient. We enjoyed the All Star Sports more and it was much cheaper

This resort continues to go downhill. We were there for a 12 day stay. The food court is grossly undersized; it is not enjoyable to fight the crowds first thing in the morning, every morning of vacation. Buses are inefficient, crowded. Couldn't get a chair by the pool most of our stay due to crowds. The addition of pets to this resort will most likely push us elsewhere in the future, and this has been our home resort for many years.

Pros:

theming, proximity to Disney Springs

Cons:

overcrowded, pets, cafeteria

Our family vacation was much less than anticipated for staying on Disney Property. We will never spend that kind of money again for such low standards. We had a wheel chair which we had to leave in the car because the access to the room was impossible. There was no refrigerator in the room. When I called housekeeping they informed me all the refrigerators had been removed because people were using them for too much food. She told me to use my ice bucket ! I was told we were informed but as yet I have never received a letter or email informing me of this. Because I insisted over and over again she finally got me a refrigerator. Not a very magical way to start the vacation. There also needs to be better marking to the building, everyone there just wanders until they get lucky and find their place. You can do better Disney...... We will never stay on Disney property again. Oct 13 to Oct 19

Pros:

pretty grounds

Cons:

confusing layout and no refrigerator

We stayed at POR from 10/12 - 10/19 this was my daughter's (7 yrs old) first trip to Disney to celebrate her birthday. The travel agent we used recommended the POR with a princess themed room called a "royal room." The magical express (neither magical nor express) arrived at our resort and we proceeded to check in at the lobby which is beautiful I might add. The welcome to Disney was so/so and not very enthusiastic. Our room was located in a building that was a long walk from the main building; it was on the third floor with an elevator that you had to walk another 2 minutes to the back of the building and another 2 minutes back to the front to reach your door. This made for a very exhausting walk after long days at the theme parks. To get to the bus stops it took about 15 minutes of walking, 20 -30 minutes for a bus to come and another 20 minutes to actually get to the parks. I went to the lobby and asked to speak with a cast member to change our room location closer to the main building and they would not oblige. The room itself was beautiful. From the furniture down to the princess themed shower it was really a beautiful and comfortable room. This type of room is something you would expect at a deluxe resort although it wasn't very big but was fine size for 3 people.

The quick serve restaurants are absolutely gross. They are overcrowded and the food was nasty. It would be cold by the time you got to sit down; if you got to sit down. If I had to describe POR in one word, the best fitting would be "overcrowded." This place is oversized and flooded with people. The outside entry to rooms makes its very motel 6 feeling. The pools are ok. I would NOT stay here again. We booked a trip for fall 2013 and we are staying at the Polynesian. I am hoping for a better experience transportation, food, room, location wise. We will see what happens.

My tips for POR

If you are like me and like to stay at the parks for long periods of time, I recommend a hotel closer to the parks that aren't so crowded this way you won't be waiting in long bus lines and you won't have to deal with long walks back to your room.

Pros:

The royal rooms are princess perfect 😉

Cons:

transportation to the parks is awful
