Over priced for the lack of service to rooms during our stay.

Pros:

The food good.

Cons:

I did not realize that I would need to empty my trash and request bath towels while on vacation. There was no room service. I expected more for Disney World.

We stayed here for President's Day weekend. Chose Pop for the rate over the holiday weekend and for the skyliner. First time we stayed in a value resort. The refurb is nice. By having the Murphy bed up, the room space was fine. With bed down, it seemed really small. The walls are really thin which means the noise level was not good. You can hear neighbors as well as groups arriving back late at night or up early. Did not try food court so no comment on that. Our room was in the 80s section which was not too far from skyliner. Having the skyliner to Epcot was great. We drove to Studios to get boarding pass. If noise level was better, I would rate higher.

Pros:

Price, skyliner

Cons:

Noise level

This was our first stay at Pop Century, May 2017. We have stayed at the All Star Resorts before and some of the moderate resorts and have never had an issue. The bus transportation at the Pop was horrible. We had over 30 minute waits several times during our week stay and when we spoke to Cast members they said that was the norm. We heard many people at the hotel also complaining. The rooms were okay, but definitely need updating, especially the bathrooms. The food court was fine and we ate there several times. We did encounter several rude Cast Members during our stay, which is unusual for Disney. The pool hours were also disappointing. The pools are not open before or after park hours. I would not stay at the Pop Century again.

Pros:

price

Cons:

bus transportation, pool hours

What a difference one year can make! First, we had to book our rooms through a travel provider due to staying for a sports event at ESPN WWS. Disney would not let us book directly. The travel provider messed up who was in each room, which screwed up some of the magic bands. One family in our party spent 45 min at check-in fixing the problem. Second, we wanted the 70's building, but we were forced into the 50's since we were there on a group reservation for a sporting event.

The bus service was the one bright spot on this stay. The bus to and from the MK and Downtown Disney were quick with a very small wait time.

The main pool in the 60's building did not have heat. It was ice cold! That is unacceptable in January. Everyone crammed into the other pool areas at the 50's and 90's buildings. Only a handful of people were at the main pool (resort was packed) and they were still doing the pool activities there instead of moving to where all the kids were. If you wanted a drink from the pool bar you had to walk from one of the other pools.

The food court was crazy busy in the morning, but I expected that and warned the rest of our party. Some chose to find out for themselves on Day 2 and were almost late for the sports event at the WWS.

I remembered the beds in the 70's building were very comfortable last year. All the beds in our group section in the 50's building were sagging in the middle and you could feel the springs. One television did not work either.

My rating for Pop Century went down from a 7 to a 4 this time.

Pros:

Afforable

Cons:

A few

I wish there was a maybe button for "would you recommend this product?" We stayed at Pop Century twice. The first time was during November 2009, then second July 2014. It was like night and day. The November visit was quiet and very enjoyable. The July visit was very noisy. Several Brazilian soccer teams brought what seemed like hundreds of noisy teenagers to the resort. They stayed up half the night playing soccer outside on the balconies. The noise of the soccer ball hitting the railing sounded more like bowling. I even got a prank call one evening around midnight. I have no idea what the giggling teenage girl on the other end was saying, but I know what I wanted to say... Despite the huge hordes, the bus system worked well. We never waited long for a bus. The rooms, although noisy, were clean and of adequate size for two adults. My husband and I really enjoyed viewing the time capsules in the lobby and doing the Twist every morning at breakfast. You can even view some of the fireworks from across the pool area. In conclusion, I would stay here again, but only in the off season when large touring groups would be less likely. P.S. Requesting a specific decade doesn't seem to work, no matter how early you book. We tried to stay in the 50's both times. The first time, we booked kind of late and got the 80's. The second time, we booked a year in advance and even paid for a preferred room because I had read online that the 50's and 60's were the preferred rooms. Apparently not because we got the 70's this last time.

Pros:

inexpensive, nostalgic theme

Cons:

noisy

I stayed at Pop Century twice in the same week so I had 2 check ins and check outs. Even with online Check In, check in took more than 20 minutes. During my 2nd check in my room was not ready, I was given magic bands and told I'd receive a text message with my room number. When I returned to Pop Century at about 1am I was LOST trying to find parking for "the 70's" building #6. I drove the property with my daughter for 15 minutes, then went into lobby for help. With 1 agent working and a tour group just arrived I waited 30 minutes before I finally spoke up and asked if security could show me to my room. No security was available to help. I found the signage on the property to be inadequate -- even the Disney employee had trouble finding my room!
IMHO some of the buildings are very inconvenient if you are using a car rather than Disney buses. The front desk was not staffed for the number of people checking in and out.
The food court has begun using the "time out" features on the soda machines. If you buy a refillable mug you are limited in how often it can be refilled. If you buy a single use cup it may only be refilled 3 times and there is a 5 minute delay in between each fill.
If you stay at Pop Century, understand it is a Value Resort with long lines, lots of tour groups, and crowded food court.
The room was clean and adequate. The noise level is high, I could hear every time a person walked in the room above me, or when the rooms above or next to me flushed a toilet. Once mousekeeping started working at about 7am their was a constant noise of carts and vacuums. For a reasonable prince you get the extra benefits of staying on property, but there are tradeoffs. Seems best suited to people traveling without their own car.

Pros:

Cost

Cons:

Parking, Property Signage, lines, food court

We have never stayed at a value usually a moderate occasionally a deluxe. this trip we knew we would arrive in the evening before our ressies at POR so we thought we would try a value for one night. Originally I wanted All Start Movie but they couldn't accommodate so we opted for POP. The grounds were manicured and the rooms were clean. If that was all that I was evaluating I would return. It is basic, no embellishments in the room but fine if you aren't using the room a lot. My problem stems with check in and out. We checked in at 7pm and the woman who helped us kept us there for 45 minutes wheile she was on hold with mouse keeping to find out if our room was ready because we had a special VIP cleaning due to my son's health issue. We also had requested a handicap room for a wheel chair. We were a party of 2 adults and 1 child for 1 room and my parents had a separate ressie for a room as well. 45 minutes later we were sent to our room. When we arrived on the 3rd floor there were two rooms with the same number. WHAT? so we went to my parent's room and I called the front desk to find out which was ours. Turned out both. I was the handicap room with a King and 1 was 2 doubles not handicapped, the rooms connected. Didn't make sense at all. At the front desk the woman said since we were switching resorts in the morning we should come down and check out in person. So in the morning we did just that or so we thought. The woman at the desk took our names punched it in the computer and said we were all set. But we weren't. At POR we went to check in and found out that we weren't checked out at the other hotel at all. The woman at POR made it easy and took care of it. She checked us out and then checked us in.
Oh and the running screaming kids were too much in the lobby just ridiculous. We all agreed we will not go back if there is a choice and we always have a choice. I would try a different value though based on the room and the room only. Glad we were only there for 1 night.

Pros:

clean

Cons:

check in/out

Room was not clean when we arrived. Took 1 hour to check-in due to confusion with reservation. We were charged for room and hopper passes upon check out even though we went through a travel agent. Desk staff would not explain the charges. After 30 minutes of discussion, we missed our magical express bus. Had to call travel agent once we got home to have money refunded. NIGHTMARE!!!

Pros:

Themes, bus transportation

Cons:

Front Desk staff and Mousekeeping

Great time at Disney, but this hotel I would skip over. The All Stars are equal quality rooms and the consistency of the bus is superior to sky-liners. No question about it. Outside of that. This hotel is really good for the price and the value it offers. Amenities are pretty normal for cheaper Disney resorts, but still great. I would suggest working your trip schedule so that you start at Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom in the morning and park hop in the afternoon from those parks (or a restaurant) to Epcot and Hollywood

Pros:

Rooms are good and nice enough for a fun and busy Disney trip. Food is pretty good for a quick dinner or breakfast. Staff was great and super helpful.

Cons:

Skyliner… every time we needed it over the 5 day trip it was down. Sometimes it wasn’t even storming yet, and the back up buses took 30+ minutes to show up at, if at all. Really the only real negative to this. You can not rely on getting to Epcot/Hollywood easily from Pop

I love the pop century is my childhood Disney resort. When I was a child I love the theme and the room that I enjoy and the food was great. I don’t mind walk too long to my room to the food court because I love seeing prop of the resort that I didn’t explore yet but ya who doesn’t?

Pros:

Good for exploring, skyliner, pool, game, and shopping

Cons:

Long walk, taking the bus too long, some food are just fine.
