I have been to too many great character meals to give this higher than an "8". We were seated by the door in a dark corner of the restaurant. We were close to the buffet, which the kids liked, but several characters passed us by on their way out the door to go to their breaks I suppose. Pluto passed us twice and never stopped for pictures. We told a waiter that the characters were not stopping to see us, and he flagged some down which was helpful. Alice was fun, and I think we did meet all the characters who were there except for Pluto.

My kids would want to go back to this restaurant just for the dessert bar. It was huge. They also liked the food from the regular menu. I liked the food, and the salmon was really good, but this wasn't worth it for me due to the exorbitant price and less than enthusiastic characters. I will pass this one up next time, but I'd recommend it to people who want a character meal since there are so few character meal options at Disneyland.

Compared to DisneyWorld, this just isn't that great. In DisneyWorld, they usually have a character handler or attendant of some type managing the characters and monitoring when they go to tables and what not. I hate having to go to the waiters and make them find the characters. I think that should be taken care of by the staff themselves, especially in light of how much dinner costs.

Pros:

Food is good, dessert table is huge, lots of characters

Cons:

too dark in the restaurant, too expensive

We LOVED this!!! Just had dinner there last week. We were very pleasantly surprised by the variety of characters there!!! We had just seen the Aladdin show that afternoon, and my 9yo son had a lengthy conversation with Aladdin about it!! We didn't feel rushed and had a lot of time with each character!!

There was a great variety of old to choose. I found it pricey, but the character meals always are. I do find it frustrating to pay adult prices for my 11yo daughter who eats only the kid choices. Oh well...

The waitress was very nice and we got very good service! I would definitely recommend this place!!

Pros:

Great aridity if characters and food

Cons:

Pricey

There were 9 of us for this meal we had reservations for 5 and were seated on time. Goofy was not out front so no picture and my grandson loves goofy. We had great service and the food was really good but only saw Chip & Dale and Minnie no other characters came around. We're very disappointed in this as we had 3 little ones with us.

Pros:

Good food

Cons:

Characters did not get around very well

We enjoyed having Goofy greet us at the beginning of the meal, and the character handlers/photopass photographers were great about making sure they got photos with their cameras and ours, as well as getting our son's autograph book signed. We were seated very quickly. The buffet area was clean and food was replenished often. The food was okay. Nothing was terrible, nothing stood out as wonderful. The ice cream sundae bar and dessert selection was the best part of the meal for us.

The characters were very slow to come around. We saw Minnie more than once, while Pluto never made it our way in over an hour. The photopass photographers also never brought us out pictures so we could decide whether or not to puchase them. Overall, we enjoyed the Surf's Up Breakfast more, but may return to give Goofy's one more chance, we'll see.

Pros:

Fun atmosphere

Cons:

Character interaction

Disappointed for price paid in the few characters at this dining. Characters were classic Goofy, Minnie, Pluto, Cip and Dale. All of these characters are easily found in the parks. Expected more! Food selection was good;however the chef at carving station presented me what little roast was left that was full of fat. Expected them to at least remove the fat before they placed it on my plate.

Pros:

food selection

Cons:

few characters

It's one of the better character dinners we've had. There were actually a handful of items on the buffet that were pretty good. That being said, it was still a buffet with a lot of food that wasn't as good as a menu based restaurant. Still, the fresh caprese salad, the carved turkey, the shrimp salad, and the mac & cheese were surprisingly good.

I'd also seen videos with a wide variety of characters, but had heard that more recently, they've shifted to Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale...and that's exactly what we got. It was fun, but it would be nice if they could change it up more.

Pros:

Fun Meal

Cons:

Average Food and Service
