Such a fun breakfast!

Pros:

The fab five of course! Breakfast was excellent too! We had a family style breakfast and they brought us literally everything we would have wanted to eat!

Cons:

Pricey option for breakfast but the kids absolutely loved the character interactions.

Chef Mickey's is the must-do first breakfast to set the mood of your trip. The food is always good, and the characters are great. Our most recent breakfast was the morning they moved over to the Convention Center to start a refurb on the restaurant. It was easy, and the Gang had more room to wander around. The only negative is how popular it is, meaning how challenging it can be to get a reservation.

Pros:

Atmosphere

Cons:

Popularity

We’ve attended several character buffets, but this was our first breakfast buffet and first time at Chef Mickey’s and it was great. There was a multitude of choices, including a “kid’s buffet”. Our server was super friendly and explained the set up and made sure we always had refills on our beverages. The food was constantly being replenished and was served at the appropriate temperature, except for the fruit, it tasted like it was recently frozen. The characters just stopped by long enough for a picture and it’s very loud, but all the kids seem to be having a good time.

Pros:

Character, food choices, service

Cons:

Very loud

As much as this is my least favorite character meal (I've done almost all of them), it's become a staple during our WDW vacations. I have seriously dined here too many times to count. We had breakfast here on our last day of Disney before heading out to St. Pete.

We were seated shortly after arriving and receiving our pager. The characters came around pretty fast, and posed for quite a few pictures, even tho it was me, my husband and our 15 year old, twin daughters. They gave us a lot of time.

Our server wasn't very attentive. She never offered to refill our drinks or ask if there was anything else we needed. When I asked her if I could have some hot tea to go, she brought me a cup, but no more hot water.

The food was actually very good this time. The empty platters were constantly being refilled, and the cold dishes like fruit and yogurt were very fresh. My favorite thing to eat was the cheesy potato casserole. It was so yummy.

I still think this restaurant could use a little help in the cleanliness department. The floor is always littered with food, and the tables and seating feel sticky every time I dine here.

If you haven't dined here, I'd give it a try. If you have, there are other character meals worth trying, like 1900 Park Fare and O'Hana.

Pros:

Food and Characters

Cons:

Cleanliness and Service

This is a Disney must do when we bring our developmentally disabled adult son on vacation. I definitely don't think the food is worth the price but we were once again on the dining plan so it is a bit easier to ignore the cost to value ratio. The food is not really bad, and the variety is definitely not an issue as they have everything you can possibly think of for breakfast. The characters were great as always with our son so we will probably be back.

Pros:

characters

Cons:

can be a little noisy

I have eaten at Chef Mickeys with my family for breakfast and dinner on many occasions, the last being for breakfast on July 2nd. There were positives and negatives to the dining experience.
My party of 6 waited about 20 minutes after our 11 am reservation time. No big deal, we weren't in any hurry.
We were seated at a table next to the window, facing the Magic Kingdom ( in the very back of the restaurant). The location was perfect. Unfortunately, the restaurant was filthy. I have never seen so much food all over the floor. The staff really should have done a better job with keeping things clean. The chairs were sticky and the table we were seated at wasn't wiped down properly.
The buffet was plentiful and was constantly being replenished. Everything we chose to eat tasted good. The hot items were hot and the cold items were chilled. The Mickey waffles were soooo yummy, as was the breakfast pizza.
The charaters were as awesome as ever. They spent a great deal of time with my kids (13, 13, 17 and 21). Our pictures are priceless!!!
The waitress surprised me and my husband with a cupcake to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary. That was a nice touch.
I really wanted to give Chef Mickeys a 10. I just couldn't get over how dirty it was.

Pros:

Characters and Food

Cons:

Dirty

My DH and I arrived for breakfast on 2/23 about 20 minutes before our reservation, and were seated almost immediately. The staff was friendly and explained everything to us, as we had never eaten there before. Neither one of us were very impressed with the food on the buffet. It was ok if you were paying about $20/pp, but for the price I thought the quality would be a lot better. The characters were great and we got our picture taken with all of them. Would probably stick to the buffet at the Crystal Palace though.

Pros:

characters, friendly staff

Cons:

food was below par, high priced

We dined at Chef Mickey's for breakfast for the first time on Dec 11, 2012. My kids were super excited to eat with Mickey! We were early for our reservation and our pager went off while we were about to have our picture taken with the Mickey statue. (My husband had enough time to take the toddler to change him while we waited)

We we seated and our waitress was fabulous! Very friendly and attentive. It felt like we'd known her forever! She figured out somehow that my husband was in the military and brought him a cupcake and had the restaurant thank him. (I was unfortunately in the restroom for this, but it was so sweet!)

Characters were great! They spent a good deal of time with each table, I thought. Really allowed for kids to get their fill and parents to get their pictures. Mickey and Goofy even pushed my youngest's high chair in!

The only issue we had was the food. My husband loves a good buffet but the eggs were horrible! They were so runny they really weren't edible! A lot of the other savory breakfast items were just mediocre. Mickey waffles and French toast were good, but the food was not as good as our visit to Crystal Palace earlier in the week.

Overall we'd return to Chef Mickeys again because of the festive atmosphere, great character interaction and great service. I just would hope the food improves!

Pros:

Character interaction, wait staff

Cons:

Food quality

This was my kids\\' favorite meal during our trip. They loved the dancing and interaction of the characters and still sing the \\\"biscuits in the oven\\\" song haha. The staff was extraordinary here and that bumped up my review score. The food was delicious too, especially the brisket and potato casserole, along with the specialty breakfast drinks.

Pros:

fun and engaging; amazing staff, yummy food and drinks

Cons:

high price for breakfast
