I may be spoiled as I think Topolinos is amazing and was comparing Chef Mickey's to my experience at Topolino's, but this lacked any real magic. The characters were okay, but the song/dance portion was quick and we only saw two characters during it. The food, it was basic and overwhelming to have a whole table of food in front of you. It would be nice if the first course of bread/yogurt/fruit was brought out a little before the rest of the meal and then cleared from the table so there aren't stacks of food and plates all over. We hardly had room for our drinks. The man that dropped our food off never even told us what any of it was. The worst dishes were the very dry brisket and sausages and hte best was the potato casserole. That being said it was all very basic and nothing to rave about. I know everyone says you aren't paying for the food, its for the experience which is fine, but having food that is hot and an experience that isn't rushed would make this better.

Pros:

the characters, all you care to enjoy, super kid friendly

Cons:

quality of food and service

Obviously, you are paying for the characters here, and we had excellent character interaction. We just felt the food was very average and didn't offer any distinctive breakfast items like other popular character breakfasts. Ex. Crystal Palace, 1900 PF, and Cape May all have more elevated food options among their offerings to make you feel like there's a bit more value in the meal. The service this time was really only so/so. It's not the worst we've ever had, but it also wasn't great... which bites since we were a party of 9 i.e. she was getting an 18% tip no matter how bad she was. I think we're going to give this one a rest on future trips.

Pros:

good characters, good location

Cons:

mediocre service

The good, the characters were great. We dined here for my mom's birthday breakfast they sang to her.
The ok, the food, nothing special.
The bad, when we arrived we were told to wait in a seating area, never being told to have our photo taken. Having photo pass+ we wanted our photo. When I asked the server he indicated we could go back to get it done, but they normally take it before you eat. Ended up waiting 20 min to get the pic and have it produced.

Pros:

Characters

Cons:

photos, food just ok

A theme among some of my reviews is the idea of “_______ does what you need it to.” Chef Mickey’s is one that falls into that group.

A really great spot for a near guarantee for seeing the Fab Five, Chef Mickey’s, if nothing else, is worth a visit to avoid having to use a Genie+ slot or a butt ton of waiting time to see the stars of the Disney IP. By stars of the Disney IP I obviously mean the breakfast scrambled eggs. What everyone comes to Disney for. Lololol just kidding, obviously I mean the Fab Five.

Those scrambled eggs though, as well as the Mickey Waffles, Pancakes, and fruits are all Disney staples as well and are exactly what you need them to be: sustenance. Nothin super special about them, but also nothing super wrong with them. The cheesy potatoes are DELICIOUS though, and the other accoutrements like the Banana Bread “French Toast” are good too.

All in all, will Chef Mickey’s knock your socks off? No, your socks will be thoroughly left on. However, will it be a delightful meal, especially for kiddos, where you get a little break from the parks, but still get to see Mickey and friends, and up close? Yes it will! The food is good in many cases, great in some cases (looking at you potatoes), and so will be filling and do what you need it to.

Pros:

Great spot to see Mickey and Co. up close Solid food, with some great aspects Break from the parks

Cons:

A bit pricey Can be REALLY tough to get a reservation at times

My favorite character restaurant of all time! The breakfast is pretty average but has a good variety. It is my least favorite time go though.

I love the outfits Mickey and friends wear here! They have a fun birthday celebration as well! It can get a little loud but that has never bothered me!

I go here ever time I visit WDW!!

Pros:

Great chance to interact with characters

Cons:

Food is average

We did Chef Mickeys for breakfast on our last trip and we were not thrilled with the food. The food was the same food served at any resort food court on Disney property. One would think that for $120 for three breakfast buffets there would be a better selection. If you are wanting to meet characters Crystal Palace is a much better value.

Pros:

Characters and view

Cons:

Food is ok and expensive

We went to breakfast at Chef Mickey's to celebrate my son's birthday on our last trip. There were a number of items to choose from including the standards (eggs, bacon, etc) as well as Mickey waffles (caramel sauce on the side), cheese blintzes, breakfast pizza, cheesy potatoes, and quiches. The fruit selection was good also. The food was okay in quality but could be better- eggs were very runny and almost watery in the buffet line and the pancakes were rubbery. It's true that sitting on a buffet affects food but those eggs were awful looking. Crystal Palace has far better food for breakfast.

On the plus side the characters and server were fanstastic. Each character came around and gave the children special attention. Minnie went out of her way to be gentle and not scare the baby. All posed for a number of pictures. Our server was quick, efficient, and kept us posted about which characters were on their way. She also brought a cupcake for my son's birthday.

Pros:

Characters, service

Cons:

Food quality okay

We took our family here because my daughter's boyfriend is a Chef and it was a big surprise. The character meeting was great and the whole family loved it. The only thing is that the food didn't give much of a choice.

Pros:

Characters

Cons:

Not much of a choice for food.

Food was average other than the Mickey Waffles. Like with most Character Meals you are paying for the experience not the food. I do have an odd allergy and they were very accommodating. Service was very good and attentive. Personally I like the Family Style better than the buffet. I personally hope they will always stay like this. I just hope we all can hug Mickey soon again. My son and I were tucked away a bit in the corner but we were also where the characters came out and they interactive very much with us. They were all great.

Pros:

meet the Fab 5.Basic breakfast food. In the Contemporary Resort, a classic hotel in the Magic Kingdom.

Cons:

Food was just average. Not very long interaction with the characters. They get pressed to keep going. Some children were calling out to Pluto and he just ignored them and kept going.
