We stayed at the Jambo House from 05/12-05/20/18. We rented points through David's DVC rentals. We absolutely loved the place! The view from our balcony each day was spectacular. The bus service was very good. We highly recommend the Starlight Safari tour!! Very educational and a great way to get up close with the animals.

Pros:

Great room, great restaurants.

Cons:

The lobby was a little dark for our liking. Wish it was a little brighter in there, but a minor detail.

Loved it. Very comfortable and spacious.

Pros:

Everything you need.

Cons:

Vacation club rooms are at the far end of the building. Long walk to your room.

Our favorite Disney gem. Amazing restaurants (especially for a vegan family like us), beautiful scenery, comfortable rooms, and at a good price (for Disney).

Pros:

Where else can you watch a zebra play while having your coffee?

Cons:

Rooms dimly lit. A bit of a hike to dining options from some rooms.

Overall, we love AKL, both Jambo and Kidani.
On this trip though, we had to wait until 7 o'clock for a room to be ready. The CM who ultimately took care of us was very professional. We were given 3 extra fast passes for the next day, which turned out to be very important. It was a really busy day at Magic Kingdom.
I'll never know what room we were supposed to get because there was a mechanical issue (thus the reason for the late check in). We ended up in 5356, Kudu trail. This is very far from the lobby. Laundry for DVC is on the 4th floor, on the other side of the lobby. So, that was a hike.
I really wish they had some alternate exits (say at the end of those super long hallways) so we could access the parking lot faster, rather than going all the way through the lobby.
The biggest thing with the room was the condition of the pullout sofa. This thing has had it's day. Happily, I have a child who doesn't complain! She slept on it ok, but I thought we were going to break it pulling it out and putting it away!
The mara was excellent. Victoria Falls lounge was great.
It's tough to beat this resort but it needs a little TLC.

Pros:

Beautiful hotel. rooms were very quiet

Cons:

room needs a refurb

We always love staying at the AKL. Resort is beautiful, clean, and great cast members. The only negative was that the room had an odor of mildew that never really went away. We were only staying a few days, so we didn't complain. It would not keep us from staying there again.

Pros:

Beautiful Resort

Cons:

Room smelled mildewy

We stayed one night in a deluxe studio room in Jambo House on September 19, 2014. Our room had a great pool view. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was a little harder than my wife would have liked, but I thought it was fine. Our daughter stayed on the sofa bed which she said was OK for one night.

The resort is themed with an incredible eye for detail. Every aspect of the resort reflects the “African” theme. The lobby is very inviting and quite large. We wished we’d had more time to explore the resort so we plan on returning for a longer stay in the future.

Pros:

Great Theme, Clean, Friendly Staff

Cons:

Lighting

Our first stay at jambo house & hopefully not our last! We stayed on the 5th floor, giving us a good view of some of the property. The lobby is gorgeous. The staff we came into contact with were very nice & worked hard to make our stay a good one. Our room was a nice size for just the 2 of us. The tub was a nice size but the bathroom was a bit tiny. I'd give up a few inches of counter space for a few more in the bathroom. I'd stay here again for sure, even if it's a bit longer to get to the parks.

Pros:

view, comfy furniture

Cons:

distance from mk, epcot

We stayed Nov 2nd - 8th in Jambo House on the 4th Floor. While rooms are very nicely decorated and well suited for the African safari theme, they are very small in comparison to non-Disney deluxe hotels. I wish Disney would rethink this. Housekeeping was good and we had a few towel animals during our stay (not daily). The staff in the Club Level and throughout the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The pool was very nice - though a little cold for my liking this time of year. Transportation was good. The longest trip was to MK (about 25 minutes).

Pros:

Wonderful Theming; Views of Savana Animals

Cons:

Small Rooms

Our family of 8 stayed at Jambo House 8/3/13-8/10/13. In a 2 bedroom villa with the view of the Savannah. Amazing room space for all, very comfortable. Great views of the animals. Great service, convenience of restaurants and store with-in the resort. We had a full size kitchen equipped with cookware. We actually had a friend bring us our groceries from the super Wal-Mart. Saved some money then shopping at the resorts marketplace. Enjoyed the pool area with the family. Movie nights were great by the pool. Kids really enjoyed themselves. The only negative was being so far from some theme parks and having to get into already very packed buses. Not everyone is willing to give up their seats for a mom holding their 5 month old baby.

Pros:

Atmosphere, Room view, Service

Cons:

Far away from some parks, buses too packed
