Like a Freak Snow Storm, the Incredible Success of ‘Frozen’ Caught Disney Off-Guard

You’d be surprised to learn that even the creative minds at Disney can be caught off-guard at times. The first inkling I got of that phenomenon came with the unexpected success of the Turtle Talk with Crush attraction in The Seas with Nemo and Friends pavilion at Epcot. The Nemo-themed show, which features live interaction with lovable turtle dude named Crush, was – and still is – a big hit. Another “Don’t look now, but we have a big hit on our hands” moment came in the weeks after the movie "Frozen" was released in late 2013.

Incredible Tomorrowland Expo Tomorrowland Magic Kingdom

From May 25 through September 3, 2018, as part of Walt Disney World's "Incredible Summer," Tomorrowland's Rockettower Plaza stage will host the Incredible Tomorrowland Expo. During the Expo, you'll have the chance to interact with Mr. Incredible, Frozone, Mrs. Incredible and, for the first time, Edna Mode. Throughout the land, you'll be immersed in the world of The Incredibles with themed decor, sound effects and music, all while interactive dances and super human entertainment take place during the Super Party Time stage show. Other highlights of the Expo are the Diaper Dash, featuring babies racing to the finish line, the roaming Super Fans, and other up-and-coming Supers who are showcased in between character appearances. In addition to new Incredibles merchandise, there will also be a number of Incredibles-themed items added to Tomorrowland's restaurant menus.

Disney-Pixar’s Incredibles 2: A spoiler-free review

The long-awaited sequel to The Incredibles is finally here! And although Disney-Pixar's Incredibles 2 doesn't feel like the ground-breaking movie that the original was 14 years ago, it is well-worth seeing -- maybe even multiple times. Writer-director Brad Bird takes us back what to what made The Incredibles super - telling a story about undervalued superheroes and their family dynamic while giving us beautiful animation, thrilling action sequences and so many laughs.
