6th Annual Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is 'Hot' LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Disney's 100 Years of Magic celebration inspires Epcot to offer sweet and spicy cuisine, a wine connoisseur's paradise, and 100 new "hot" reasons to experience the sixth annual Epcot International Food and Wine Festival continuing now through Nov. 18. This year's event is hotter than ever with a new display of 100 Peppers, a Mondavi winemaking tour, and an alfresco Lifestyles Experience of culinary demonstrations and celebrity chef appearances. The 100 Peppers display was designed in conjunction with the 100 Years of Magic celebration at Walt Disney World Resort. The exotic exhibit of 100 potted peppers and chilies ranges from the sweet Shishito peppers of Japan to the extremely hot Harold St. Barts of the Caribbean islands. Guests who are "pepper-shy" can enjoy Grand Tastings, Winemaker Dinners, Reserve Dinners and Food and Wine Pairings (costs vary) scheduled throughout the celebration. Featuring more than 100 wineries and cuisine from more than 30 countries and regions of the world, this celebration is one of the world's largest food and wine festivals. 6th Annual "ABC Super Soap Weekend" Shines Nov. 3-4 at Disney-MGM Studios LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- "All My Children" star Susan Lucci headlines a lineup of more than 30 ABC Daytime drama stars participating in the sixth annual "ABC Super Soap Weekend" Nov. 3-4 at Disney-MGM Studios. The star-studded event features: Autograph Sessions with stars from all four ABC Daytime dramas -- "All My Children," "One Life to Live," "General Hospital" and "Port Charles." Festival of the Masters Presents a Cultured Blend of Art, Music, Entertainment and Food at Downtown Disney LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Long recognized as one of the Southeast's most prestigious art and culture showcases, Festival of the Masters returns to Downtown Disney Nov. 9-11. Premier Folk Artist Purvis Young Headlines Folk Art Festival at House of Blues LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The sidewalks at House of Blues located at Downtown Disney West Side will come alive with colorful artwork and inspiring stories from prominent national and regional folk artists during the third annual Where the Art Meets The Soul folk art festival Nov. 10 and 11. Occurring in conjunction with the Festival of the Masters at Downtown Disney Marketplace, the festival is free and open to guests each day from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For the first time, House of Blues-Orlando will welcome premier folk artist Purvis Young, who is known for his depictions of life in inner city Miami. Guests will also experience: Works from more than thirty other folk artists including constructions of the American flag by Ab the Flagman, Mary Proctor, Brian Dowdall, Harry Teague, Jim Shores, Ruth Mae McCrane and James Gibson. Bethune-Cookman College, Florida A&M University Fight for Gridiron Bragging Rights At 23rd Annual Florida Classic, Presented by Walt Disney World Resort LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Bragging rights will once again be on the line when the Bethune-Cookman College Wildcats and Florida A&M University Rattlers renew their annual rivalry during the 23rd annual Florida Classic, presented by the Walt Disney World Resort, on Nov. 17. Kick-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Florida Citrus Bowl and Walt Disney World Resort will serve as presenting sponsor of the game for the fifth consecutive year. Sideline tickets (lower deck and mezzanine levels) are $30, while upper deck and end zone seats are $25. Student tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the respective school's ticket office only with valid student identification. Game tickets are available at all TicketMaster locations. guests can contact any Walt Disney Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights: There are now 5 million "illuminating" reasons to visit the seventh annual Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights, the largest residential holiday light display in the world, at Disney-MGM Studios. The nightly light display, which shines Nov. 21-Jan. 6, 2002, is located on the theme park's "backlot" and provides a picturesque atmosphere for a nightly snowfall, a tree made of 100,000 lights and more. Guests also will receive a pair of holographic glasses, allowing them to see images of angels when looking at the lights. The display is included in regular admission to Disney-MGM Studios. Journey to Tomorrow at Innoventions Continues to Give Epcot Guests a Glimpse of the Future LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Technology is always changing and so is Innoventions at Epcot, helping guests to discover what the future has to offer. The House of Innoventions features several new technical upgrades for the home of tomorrow: The Bio Thentica Corporation eliminates the use of keys for the front door with the SentryScan DL-200 door lock, which uses fingerprints to allow homeowners access to their home. And the SentryScan FM-300 mouse uses a built-in optical scanner that creates a 3D encrypted image of a fingerprint, which substitutes for passwords for the home computer. In the bathroom, a toothbrush with sensors warns of a potential illness and a medical mirror recognizes vital signs and provides correct information to take action. Imagine being able to listen to e-mails in the car! The Audiovox MP4000 can make it happen. This device brings the Internet to the car by converting e-mail files to MP3's. It reads e-mails aloud and allows for a response in an MP3 format. Video Games of Tomorrow presented by Disney Interactive allows guests to immerse themselves in the latest sports games with ESPN titles, experience the ultimate brain blast with Disney's Zoog Genius and challenge some action-packed adventures with favorite Disney characters. Innoventions celebrates breakthroughs in science and technology -- everything from exploratory medicine to personal global communications and home entertainment. Additions, Expansions to Magic Kingdom Shops Bring New Flavor to Main Street, U.S.A. LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Emporium Gift Shop, Main Street Bakery and Plaza Ice Cream Parlor at the Magic Kingdom boast new expansions, menus and merchandise offering guests an innovative Main Street, U.S.A. experience: Emporium Gift Shop: Under construction for the past nine months, the addition of 3,000 square feet of retail presentation space makes the Emporium Gift Shop one continuous 16,742 square foot shopping experience. Main Street Bakery: Formerly known as the Main Street Bake Shop, Main Street Bakery has been completely redesigned with rich woodwork, granite counter tops, a reconfigured layout leading to a dining area within the adjacent Crystal Arts shop and a new kitchen where an expanded menu of items is prepared. New menu items include: French toast loaf, breakfast quiche, warm banana bread pudding, frozen coffee smoothies and novelty desserts such as "dirt and worms," which blends chocolate mousse and cookie crumbs with gummy-worm candy. Disney's Animal Kingdom Opens Six Kids Discovery Club Locations LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Creative activity locations have been introduced at Disney's Animal Kingdom, providing young guests with new fun and activities. Youngsters ages 4-8 can excavate assorted fossil pieces in Dinoland U.S.A., examine clues left behind by animals in Africa, discover objects found in an Adirondack forest and more at six Kids Discovery Club locations. Wide World of Sports Complex Florida High School Activities Association Girls Volleyball State Championships, Nov. 8-10 LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- All season long, girls volleyball teams across the state of Florida have set their sights on one thing, the FHSAA Girls Volleyball State Championships at Disney's Wide World of Sports complex, Nov. 8-10. Defending 6A champion Olympic Heights (Boca Raton) is aiming for its sixth consecutive state title and five other schools are seeking a repeat state championship performance from a year ago Gainesville (5A), Clearwater (4A), Orlando's Bishop Moore (3A), Gainesville's P.K. Yonge (2A) and Ft. Myers' Canterbury (A). Semifinals within all six levels of the Florida High School Activities Association will be contested at The Milk House on Nov. 8-9. The finals will be held on Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. (Class A, Class 3A), 2:30 p.m. (Class 5A, Class 2A) and 7 p.m. (Class 4A, Class 6A). Sunshine Network will broadcast title matches statewide (schedule TBA). Admission is $6 per session. *****

The Disney Tip Off tournament is regarded as one of the best regular season tournaments in Division II basketball. This year will be no exception with three teams that advanced to last year's Div. Kaylee Scholarship Association Game of the Week Series LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The KSA Game-of-the-Week high school football series concludes in November with two weekends of football action at Disney's Wide World of Sports complex. The seven-week fall series, which features prep teams from nine states competing in 16 varsity games, began in August and runs through Thanksgiving weekend.
