Five New Things We’re Excited to Try for the First Time at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!

It may only be October, but Christmas season at Walt Disney World is right around the corner! And you know what that means: the beginning of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom!

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

We’re especially excited about this year’s party, as it will introduce a few NEW experiences.

If you aren’t familiar with the seasonal event, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a hard-ticket event in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. The party features complimentary holiday treats, potentially shorter attraction lines, festive entertainment, and MORE. Oh: and Santa himself, of course!

While there are several favorites returning to this year’s Party, like “A Frozen Holiday Wish” and Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, this year will also feature a few NEW experiences.

Here are the things we’re excited to try for the FIRST TIME at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!

Minnie’s Most Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks

We’ll kick things off with the new addition we’re the MOST excited about — Minnie’s Most Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks.

The story behind the show is this: Minnie Mouse is hosting a show celebrating the magic of Christmas. The show will include medleys of holiday classics including “Joy to the World”, “Deck the Halls”, “Up on the Housetop”, and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.” The holiday music will surely conjure memories of home and family as the show grows to a finale that Disney promises we won’t want to miss.

The new fireworks show will be exclusive to party guests through the last night of the party, but typically Disney transitions the nighttime spectacular for regular Park guests between the end of the party nights and Christmas. This year, those dates are December 23 to December 25.

Attraction Overlays

While we’ve gotten to experience the holiday-themed “Jingle Cruise” already, several more attraction overlays are coming to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party this year!

Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor

Staying in Tomorrowland, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor is getting its own Christmas-themed overlay!

According to Disney, “the crew at Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor is putting some ‘Ha Ha Ha’ in their ‘Ho Ho Ho,’ with a new show for everyone visiting the Monster World during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.”

Also in Tomorrowland, Space Mountain is getting in on the holiday spirit as well!

During Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, guests will launch on a “trippy jaunt through the cosmos, filled with dazzling lighting and high-energy holiday tunes.” That sounds pretty epic to us!

Mad Tea Party

In nearby Fantasyland, you’ll be able to take a spin on the Christmas-themed Mad Tea Party!
