There are some changes coming to the 2020 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend on January 8-12, 2020 for both runners and spectators.
First up, the course will be different this year, as well as the start time.
Set your alarms! The 2020 Marathon will start at 5:00 am — that’s 30 minutes earlier than before.
The 2020 course will include a run through Blizzard Beach and more time in Epcot, giving runners less time on the roads outside the parks.
The 2020 Marathon will see the debut of a new runner-exclusive outdoor area where runners will be able to take pictures, pick up their gear, recover, and stretch. If anyone with you purchases the ChEAR Squad package they will be able to access the finish line, the Magic Kingdom viewing area, and other amenities — but will not have access to the runner-exclusive outdoor area.
Be sure to watch runDisney.com for on-sale dates for the ChEAR Squad packages as well as the runner-exclusive area.
