It’s finally here! The Epcot Food & Wine Festival is back! This year’s Festival includes the debut of four new Global Marketplaces (commonly called food booths!) and runs a record-breaking 87 days!

We tried to get to as many booths as we could on opening day. Check out what we tried and what’s new!

There are four new Global Marketplaces. The Alps is serving up Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese with Baby Potatoes, Cornichons and Baguette as well as a Venison Stew with Crushed Potatoes.

With a name like The Appleseed Orchard you can expect to find a very apple-centric menu here! The Charcuterie and Cheese Plate featuring Burton’s Maplewood Farm Applejack Brandy Barrel Aged Maple Syrup is ideal if you love cheese and meat!

The Caramel Apple Popcorn makes a great snack as well. You can wash all of these eats down with apple forward wines, beers, and ciders.

The Donut Box and Cool Wash will open as new additions to the Festival on October 1. We’ll bring you those menu items when they start serving!

Returning Food and Wine Festival Booths

We stopped by some of the Festival’s returning booths to see what was new at the booths — we were surprised to find a lot of new items at these “old friends”.

Africa

In Africa, the Kenyan Coffee Barbecue Beef Tenderloin with sweet potato and corn mealie pap with Kachumbari slaw is a hearty dish — definitely worth the price and surprisingly filling for an appetizer-sized portion.

Deconstructed Pavlova with Pastry Cream, Citrus-macerated Berries and Lemon Myrtle Meringue is a light and flavorful option — with great texture from the starburst meringues.

Fondue Savoyarde: Fondue of Imported Cheeses and Chardonnay served with Croutons is a bowl of delicious cheese sauce — always a good choice!

Hawaii

The AULANI Sunrise is comprised of Vodka, DOLE® Pineapple Juice, and Grenadine — and it’s as refreshing as it looks!

Costine di Maiale: Balsamic-glazed and Oven-roasted Pork Ribs is the Italian version of ribs — and these are tasty for the little burnt bits on the edges!

Crostine

Japan

Frothy Ramen: Chilled Noodles and Dashi Broth with a Light Foam Topping doesn’t sound very appetizing, but the flavors were strong and deep. Definite umami going on in this one.

NY Strip Steak Green Shermoula Flatbread with fresh Radish and Tomato Salsa is a fresh, taco-like presentation and really fun to eat!

The not-too-sweet Frangipane Peach Tart at Sommerfest in Germany was a relatively light option with lovely peach flavor.
