Surprise, surprise. Here we are again… playing favorites. We’ve already explained why Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Epcot are our favorite parks. But this week — well, let’s just say our allegiance has changed.
Here are just a few reasons why Disney’s Hollywood Studios is our favorite park:
1. Becoming Toys
Toy Story Land is one of the best lands Disney has built in recent years. You truly feel like you’ve been shrunk to the size of a toy in Andy’s back yard. The detail is incredible — from the giant footprints to the Cooties by the bathrooms. Toy Story Land also features one of the most surprisingly fun coasters, Slinky Dog Dash, and one of the most fun rides in all of Disney World, Toy Story Mania. Toy Story Land knocks it out of the park — all the way to infinity and beyond!

2. Lounges
While most people think of Epcot when it comes to good drinks and a laid-back atmosphere, don’t count out Hollywood Studios. In fact, there are several designated places to actually sit and have a leisurely nosh and adult beverage here. (Think about it — most spots in Epcot are kiosks, carts, or standing room. Not complaining, of course — Epcot was my favorite last week.)
But between Baseline Taphouse, The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge, and the Tune In Lounge, Hollywood Studios is a fabulous place to eat, drink, and be merry (while people watching, which is what I do).

3. A Thrilling Good Time
Hollywood Studios is home to several other thrills way past Slinky Dog Dash. In fact, two of the most notorious Disney thrills sit right next to each other at the end of the park’s Sunset Boulevard — the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Rock n’ Roller Coaster. You can also take flight in the galaxy far, far away at Star Tours: The Adventures Continue.

And coming SO soon, you can add the thrilling attractions of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to the list. Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run opens August 29, and Disney just announced Rise of the Resistance will open December 5. I know I cannot wait to see what the thrills of Batuu have to offer!
What’s better than watching your favorite princess movie or seeing her just wave in a parade? How about watching a musical production with all of your favorite songs from her movie?
At Hollywood Studios, not one, not two, but THREE different princess classics are brought to life right before your very eyes. Check out Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage, and For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-along to see your favorite royals perform live!

5. Nighttime Entertainment
Hollywood Studios has three very different nighttime shows for you to choose from. You can watch the Wonderful World of Animation, which projects clips from EVERY SINGLE Disney animated classic and Pixar film onto the Chinese Theater. It’s an adorable show that will have you smiling and awed at the power of animation.
You can enjoy Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, which is part fireworks, part laser, part projection, and all Star Wars.
Or you can see the greatest nighttime show in Walt Disney World (IMO), Fantasmic! Fantasmic! takes you on a journey through Mickey’s imagination — but watch out for the villains who are trying to make it a nightmare!
No matter which you choose, it’s sure to be a magical end to your day! (But seriously, pick Fantasmic!)
So there you are — five reasons why Disney’s Hollywood Studios is our favorite park (for now)!

This has become my least favorite park bc most of the original layout has be completely gutted. I do like lunching @Brown Derby as one of the best park restaurants of any park and hitting ToT and RR and then heading over to Epcot via walking the lake and then the Boardwalk over to International Gateway. It’s relaxing and you can check off studios and still take in a good day at Epcot. Not sure how the new skyway gondolas and Star Wars land will affect this park but the Main Street walking area seems crowded on slow days. Seems to me this park will be packed from here on out 24/7/365 with all the new entertainment.
