  1. According to the disney world website under events and tours, there is a $74 charge to do the night time for one hour at the animal kingdom lodge with the goggles.

    1. Hi Debbie,

I think you’re referring to the Starlight Safari tour. As far as we know there is still the option to view the animals at night at both Kidani Village and Jambo House with the night vision goggles, free of charge. It’s not a tour – you just show up at the overlook at night and wait your turn to use the goggles.

  2. Hi,
Here is a little trivia about the AKL. My husband and I were guests at the lodge and came in late one night. The workers had those huge lights down, they work on a pulley system, and guess what …they are African shields. They asked if we would like photos and they took pictures with us holding one of the shields.
We loved staying there and waking up and looking out the window to see animals is fantastic .

  3. We go there all the time! Its our favorite. But, you missed 2 of our favorite things to do! You can roast marshmallows and make Smores. Also, our favorite thing to do is the different activities where you receive a bead for each one. Its a great learning experience as well as being lots of fun for all ages!
