Disney Pic of the Week: Kylo Ren at Star Wars Launch Bay

This month I am going to feature Disney resort experiences in the Pic of the Week featured blogs. Character meet-and-greets not only give guests a chance to have their photos taken with the character or characters, they give photographers an opportunity to take portraits of the characters.

Inside the Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I had such an opportunity with Kylo Ren, one of the villains of the latest Star Wars trilogy which concludes this December 2019, with the film The Rise of Skywalker.

I used a bounced flash to illuminate Kylo Ren without getting reflections off his mask. The light from the flash bounced in behind him to give a nice highlight just behind his head, too.

Once you indicate to a character you want to take their portrait, they are more than willing to pose for you. Kylo gave me his “Force” pose.  Just be mindful of  other guests behind you and do not take too much time with the character(s).
