We know Disney World is a very expensive place to visit. Between tickets, resort rooms, merchandise, food, and travel expenses — it adds up quick!
That’s why it’s nice to get a little freebie every now and again! Here are a few ways to upgrade your Disney World vacay for the price of ZERO dollars:
Animal Kingdom Lodge Food Tour
Animal Kingdom Lodge is a foodie’s paradise! And did you know you could sample a few of the signature dishes from Boma and Jiko for FREE? How? The Animal Kingdom Lodge Culinary Tour! This daily tour is guided by African Cast Members who explain the intricate design of the restaurants and allow you to sample various signature items, such as Zebra Domes. It’s really fun and anyone can take the tour — not just resort guests! This is a great way to sample food from some of the best restaurants on property. Plus you’ll learn lots of fun facts and details!
Head to Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom and swing by Castle Couture if your little ones (or you!) want a little extra pixie dust! Just ask any of the hostesses and they will use a magic wand to sprinkle pixie dust in your hair. This fun glittery touch can make your day shine a little bit more!
Sure wake-up calls are basically a hotel standard, but only at Disney will your wake-up call be from a favorite character! They are available at any Walt Disney World resort — just use your in-room phone to set up a call. You can also arrange Happy Birthday calls!
Celebration buttons can be picked up at your resort front desk or any Guest Relations location. On a regular day there are four varieties — Birthday, First Visit, Happily Ever After (for honeymoons and anniversaries), and I’m Celebrating for just about anything else!! Buttons are a fun little token to wear throughout your trip — and they may encourage some Cast Members to make a little extra magic for you!
Also, if you happen to be at Walt Disney World during a special occasion — such as a big park anniversary — there may be commemorative buttons! This is a fun take-home to remember being part of WDW history.
Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom is an interactive card game that takes place all over the park. You can get five free cards each time you enter the park! They also have exclusive cards at the special ticketed events, like the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. There are dozens of cards, and you can trade them like pins with the Sorcerers’ Cast Members. Each card does something different within the game. This is a great way to kill some time in between FastPasses, and the cards are a fun take-away. Have the kids get creative and make up their own game with them at home!
Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long
You can enjoy roasting s’mores, singing along with your favorite chipmunks and a Disney movie showing under the stars for the price of FREE. The only catch — you have to BYOSS (bring your own s’mores stuff). You can purchase a s’mores kit there, but of course it’ll be marked up. Chip n’ Dale are in attendance to lead the sing-along of campfire favorite tunes, take photos, and sign autographs. After your sweet treats and sing-along, snuggle up and watch a Disney classic on the big screen!
This fun event takes place at the Fort Wilderness Campground and you can call (407) WDW-PLAY for the movie schedule.
It’s so important to stay hydrated during long days in the hot Florida sun! Buying water bottles over and over again at $3+ a pop can add up quick. This is why we always suggest bringing a reusable water bottle with you to Walt Disney World. You can fill it up for free at water fountains, as well as ask for a cup of water at any quick service location! Good for the environment AND for your wallet.
