Disney’s Hollywood Studios Celebrates Its 30th with New Logo, Attractions!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is kicking off 2019 with the introduction of a new logo to go along with lots of new shows and attractions coming to the park to help celebrate its 30th anniversary!

That’s right — on May 1, Walt Disney World Resort will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Studios. Here’s just some of what’s in store for the coming year.

  • A new cinematic nighttime experience called the Wonderful World of Animation will debut May 1. The show will use state-of-the-art technology to take you on a magical journey through more than 90 years of Disney animation, all beginning with Mickey.

  • Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy is due to open this spring. During this new show, you’ll come face to face with racing legend Lightning McQueen, who will teach you about racing from his years of experience on the track. This will be the previously untold story of Lightning McQueen… as told by Lightning McQueen!

  • Disney Skyliner will offer unique views later this year as guests float in gondolas that will drop them off at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (or Epcot) on roundtrips from Art of Animation, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach and the new Riviera Resort.
  • Finally, the deeply immersive land of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open in the Studios in late fall 2019. You’ll explore Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu, where you’ll find all manner of new sights, sounds, smells, tastes, characters and creatures from a galaxy far, far away. The land will also feature two thrilling new attractions: Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

  1. Hey Debra, could you make me feel any older. We had been visiting WDW for several years before the studios was even built. It does seem like a lifetime ago though.
