  1. Several popular travel agencies that specialize in WDW vacations have evaluated the non-discounted package with free dining plan vs a discounted package and budgeting meals separately. Each calculated that, even if one eats 3 full meals a day every day of their trip at the most expensive restaraunts, there is no scenario where the non-discounted (regular or quick service) package with the dining plan is financially cheaper than booking the lowest non-dining discounted package and budgeting meals separately. Additionally, guests have the flexibility of skipping meals as they choose and pocketing the savings or using it for other Disney related purchases.

If anyone has a different take on this, I would like to hear it.

  2. Is there any perk to the bounce back offer in compare to the free dining that was just released? We did the bounce back offer when we were there last summer and now everyone is being offered free dining. Doesn’t seem right….

  3. I am very happy with the free dining my priced drop over $500 for our package. Which was $100 more than the room only discount!

  4. Hello! There is nothing free here. You have to pay the full non-discounted package price to get it. Trust me, you are
paying for it. And there are the usual restrictions. If there’s one thing disney knows, it’s the old bait and switch. So, as the late great P.T. Barnum used to say, “Enjoy your FREE dining suckers.”

    1. You never have anything positive to add, do you. No, it isn’t really “free” dinning, but it is far from bait and switch. You get what they say you will. The cost savings on food may well offset the cost of a nondiscounted room for many people.

      1. Aww. Don’t ruin his fun. He likes being Debbie Downer. Don’t replace the pee in his corn flakes with real milk NOW!

        1. Perfect! Lauren gets it. Some humorous sarcasm. It’s good for the soul. I’m a two egg omelette for breakfast guy though. And I take no offense in you calling a male “Debbie”. It’s all good!

      2. Richard, I have posted numerous positive comments. And many of what you call negative are simply meant to be humorous. But, I have no problem calling someone’s baby ugly if the shoe fits (mixed metaphors are great). I’ve been a WDW enthusiast and frequent visitor for over 30 years. So Ive earned the street cred to drop a dime on the big D when i feel they deserve it. And unfortunately, WDW has been deserving of some tough love lately. And from the comments of many, many, other Allears posters, I’m not the Lone Ranger with those thoughts.
