Walt Disney World Resort Former Child Care Locations Now Family Activity Centers

In January, Disney World announced the Child Care Centers at several resorts would be closing on July 31, 2018. We stopped by the Beach Club‘s former center, the Sandcastle Club, and saw that it has been renamed Seaside Retreat.

We stopped in to get more information.

Seaside Retreat is now a Family Activity/Craft Center.  We learned that the other child care centers that were in other resorts (e.g., Simba’s Cubhouse at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Lilo’s Playhouse at the Polynesian) have been similarly converted.

The Seaside Retreat has times posted for making Mini Character Magnets, and watching a movie.

As you can see there is plenty of room and there are a lot of tables for activities, arts and crafts for the entire family.

We love the Christmas tree at the entrance! If only those gingerbread cookie ornaments were edible!

These activity centers do not provide babysitting services.
