The former Outpost, the upper seating area, is much smaller and was busy so only a couple quick pictures of the area.

Moving out to Tom Sawyer Island now. Looking toward the Hungry Bear and what will eventually be a walk way into the Star Wars area, more concrete has been poured and most of the walkway looks complete now. Just one section was still awaiting concrete.

To mark the return of the Rivers of America there is a small scavenger hunt going on.There are six cards available at various locations in Critter Country, New Orleans Square and Frontierland highlighting the returning attractions. These are free while supplies last (they were out of the Fantasmic cards on Friday).
Jason @ disneygeek.com image from Friday, June 30, 2017
If you flip the cards over they form a map of Tom Sawyer Island. Note my missing spot since they were out of the Fantasmic cards.

  1. Thanks for the updates Jason.

    I hope that Honor Guard’s rifle wasn’t loaded! : )

Any chance you can post an enlargeable map showing the new train route if latest maps reflect it? I’ve heard for the first time there is a left turn.

Doug – The park maps have not been updated as of my last visit. To help you visualize the change the Rivers of America now make a u-turn just past Fort Wilderness. The back portion of the island that was not accessible to guests is gone. The train will now make a sharper turn and travel along the river longer then along the Big Thunder Trail before it makes a left hand turn and then a right to rejoin the old route at the Toontown Station.
