One of my fondest memories of the Wilderness Lodge is from the late 1990s.
I went to sleep one night and the next morning woke up to the entire lodge being decorated for the holidays. Tears filled my eyes. It really was Disney Magic.

My favorite memory of staying at the WL was meeting the an older bell hop from PA. He asked where we were from and when I said PA he asked where in PA and when I told him the town he was so surprised because he said he had helped many people from PA but we were the first guests from his hometown. When he found out we were teachers he asked about several teachers that were retired but he had fond memories of these special teachers.
We were selected to be the Flag Family one morning and I’m sure he helped select us.
We love the WL, especially at Christmas time. The decorations, the music, the atmosphere just scream Christmas. It is the most relaxing resort at Disney. I don’t know if it’s the décor, but it’s such a calming place to stay and that says a lot considering there are thousands of kids–young and old–running around! 🙂
